On the contrary, this game has shown that if you study both JV's post moves you can defend him fairly easy. Krstić read him as an open book.

Yes, because obviously from here on now, every single post move he attempts is going to be an offensive foul, or a bad shot. Come on now. It was one game. Just because the defender will know what JV will do, doesn't mean he's gonna be able to stop it.

I still dont get why he he fakes but never takes that jumper. No one is bitting on it now, every defender knows what he gonna do. Kastas is absolutely correct, you know JV will uselessly fake, and then drive to his right pushing his shoulder forwards.

I'm rooting for Macedonia.

I don't want Lithuania advancing far in this tournament. (Sorry LTU fans)

LAtvia and Georgia are exceeding expectations so far.

A few reasons.

1. Less games = Less wear and tear
2. He will come into training camp with some proper rest.
3. Playing in FIBA games gives him bad habits (different rules)
4. Better training facilities in Toronto and has the training staff to continue his NBA development.

Formal Brits calling the game - "Andris Biedrins chose not to play in this tournament, wanted to rest"

Dubjevic and Vucevic are like 2 exact copies.

I think Kristic is getting a little too much credit here. He didn't have one foul called against him and drew one on a ridiculous flop. He had the grace of the refs. JV still blew by him despite not biting on that pump fake. It's just that the refs didn't call the push and he ended up getting trapped under the basket. A couple of calls here and there and maybe Valanciunas puts up a more respectable line.

I don't doubt their HC is one of the best in Europe, but he still allowed the Lavrinovic's to take 5 three pointers, not one of which had a hope of going in. He also didn't crack down on Kleiza's chucking, who at one point had the ball a foot from the basket and somehow ended up taking a horribly off-balance fadeaway from the free throw line that missed. What JV has proven consistently at all levels is that he scores efficiently from the field AND he gets fouled a lot. The high turnovers are ugly, but we're still talking about just a few possessions v. what could be 15-20 efficient points and foul trouble for the other team.

Latvia wins again! Rice always bailed Montenegro out, but it wasn't enough, amazing game.
But you know. it really pisses me off, that a lot of these games are won by naturalized players. I talked about foreign coach, I have no problem with that whatsoever, but I do not approve naturalized players.

Tomic made a game winner against Georgia (unfortunately). Another great game.

Much of the problem that I saw from Jonas was that he would slip the screen way too early and it wouldn't give his guards an angle to hit him with a pass even though he got into open real estate plenty of times because the on-ball defender was getting over the screen every single time pressuring the ball putting them in the twilight zone not being able to see the middle of the floor. His first foul was from a moving a screen which is why he's got to sit and hold the screen and call for the ball as soon as he dives because extending his arm out isn't going to get him the ball. He needs to DEMAND the ball.

Macedonia will be a tough rebound game for JV. The team has size and plays dirty. They also lost a heartbreaker to Montenegro and should come out more fired up than LTU.

This will be a tough game. A loss can be a disaster for LTU as Montenegro and Latvia are also capable of beating them.

Kalneitis played well but he doesn't orchestrate the offense that Jasikevicius used too. LTU needs more movement away from the ball. The team also needs to be more selective with their interior passing.

The +/- will make a difference in this group.

I wonder if Serbia took Stimac simply because of his cheering, towel waving abilities. Guy is a GOAT.

That, and probably because he resembles a certain character from the Goonies.

Nedovic is way better than I thought. Serbia as a whole as well. Seems like every time they assemble younger, lesser known players, the better they play. That school is glorious.
And Nedovic played for Rytas, right? They were trashed by bankrupting Z, how did that happened? Damn, him and Jonas could have been a nice combo.

Still focusing one practicing his post moves to get ready for the upcoming Raptors season.

Seriously though. The kid worked hard on his post game this summer. The next step will be to mix in the rest of his offense.

He has tunnel vision right now. It's pretty normal at this stage in player development.

JV better not choke two games in a row... he'll get the City in a frenzy and I'll have to return to my old username.

Jonas is much better player when starting. Just saying.
