When the MLSE plane picked up Kawhi the other day, I am pretty sure it was only grounded for about an hour or so before flying back to Toronto. I don't think the quick departure tells us anything one way or another.

This is the most reasonable explanation of the flight back to san diego. Uncle Dennis is an old man, no one cares about celebrating his birthday.

The flight landed at 9 AM Pacific Time, which is noon Eastern.

The flight to SD is a little over 5 hours.

That means it left Toronto at around 7 AM.

That says to me that it is pretty unlikely he was on the plane.

Nope, it was grounded in LAX for like half a day

I’m seriously starting to think he’s staying now. Plane goes to pick up his family to be with him and he’ll make the announcement late this afternoon/early evening.

Depends - it'll likely be @ cruising speed if it has passengers on board, but it also enjoys the luxury of being in the same direction as the jet stream so it won't have to fight against headwinds. Flight time on a commercial airliner such as Air Canada is usually half an hour faster moving from west to east (LAX to YYZ) based on my experience.
