He is poor man's Scottie Pippen/Ben Simmons, because he can guard the SG/SF perimeter fulltime as well. Draymond could never do that. You would have never seen Draymond assigned to a Bradley Beal.
Due their abilities to cover the perimeter full-time and with their size; Scottie Pippen/Ben Simmons/Scottie Barnes can play all those positions PG|SG|SF|PF fulltime.
Due to Dray's inability to cover SG/SF perimeter player he can "only" play PF/C!
Scottie's ceiling is higher than Prime Draymond: Let's just see if he can reach DPOY-level.

Scottie and Ben are on another level athleticism wise. It’s why I’m using Draymond instead.

Sorry but this "Draymond" comparison to me just feels so lazy and kinda yesterday's news...
I think it's painfully obvious Scottie's upside is SUBSTANTIALLY better than Draymond, particularily on the offensive end
Before we even discuss his what you just watched offensively, let's just start with physically...Scottie is 3 inches taller and even longer than Draymond, you can literally see with your own eyes he's clearly a bigger person and yet he's only a baby. Just that size alone is going to help him to be able to do things offensively Draymond can't. Add to that Scottie is a FAR better athlete...Scottie has some of the best combine testing EVER, he had one of the best 2nd jumps ever tested AND was one of THE fastest moving athletes laterally -- ALL of those huge physical differences do make a difference. Don't think athleticism does, ask Derrick Rose if it does or don't think height/size make a difference, how effective do you think Giannis would be 3 inches shorter?!? Not the same guy because even physically those things make a difference.
How it translates was already seen in the HLs with a laundry list of things you don't see Draymond out there doing. For the most part all you see Draymond do is defend, run, pass and hit the once in a leap year, world's most wide open 3. Meanwhile just from what we've seen Scottie show flashes of so far, I've seen WAY more post game, backing down guys on the block (there's that size advantage), use hook shots, follow up put backs etc...Then unlike Draymond, I've seen Scottie (keep in mind as a 20 yr old just starting in our development)....take his man off the dribble for dunks, floaters, lay ups (there's that lateral speed helping) and even though it needs work I've seen him pull jumpers around the key, do so off the dribble and also from 3; like I said that's laundry list and he's JUST STARTING!! What do you think he'll look like in 3 years?!? You know when Draymond was a "rookie", it will be laughable how much better he is offensively.
Heck I'd say Scottie might even have the potential to be a better passer. I know Draymond is a legit passer, don't get me wrong -- I do think he's very fortune to have some VERY high percentage shooters *ahem* around him but he's got a great bball IQ too and understands where and how to pass. But I've seen Barnes in just a short few weeks make some beautiful ones like his left handed full court toss to Delano or a dime he dropped right through the whole Wizards roster to Achuiwa catching up on the play, that really kinda shocked me that he can make some special passes AND (major key) is just starting to learn the game....
That's where you can call him "poorman's" Draymond in some sense...is defensively on ball Scottie is already fantastic and could arguably be one of the better in the league BUT he's still learning the game and understanding team schemes, opponents strengths/weaknesses and overall court awareness. He has a lot to learn and a lot of that also has to do with experience but both things will come with time. Given how much he's already picked up and how high his bball IQ seems to be, I'm not counting out he might get there TOO and that would be that much better offensively. Scottie is just different.

But they are not in the same category of players (Draymond and Scottie(Ben&Pippen/add Paul George in there)
Looking at last night game for example, the Scotties/Ben/PG13 can be put on Stephen Curry. Draymond would never get that type of assignment. That fact makes them different players. Draymond is a Power Forward and interior defender. Scottie is PG|SG|SF|PF because he can guard all those positions. Big difference!

I’m very aware that his ceiling right now is way higher than Draymond’s offensively lol.
I’m just saying the role he’s playing right now is a poor man’s Draymond. That’s not a knock on him.
I don’t know why people get sensitive over the Draymond comparisons.

He's the most talented player on the team already with pascal. Nothing crazy about it.

I called Barnes shooting form Joakim Noah like, pre draft.
His shooting form is so similar to Kawhi now. I cant believe he fixed it so soon.

I can vouch for this guy and another guy arguing against like 20 people in favour of Barnes. I was one of those 20 people...I apologize buddy lol.

I'll settle for a hyphen. Scottie Magic-Pippen Barnes
