a big man rotation of bargs, drummond, ed, and jonas sounds pretty sweet to me.

no. Andrea Bargnani will have the easiest transition to the NBA and the most impact. I don't know why people think he can't play the 3 either. He's very mobile and has good size to guard anyone at that position. He is forced to play big on his team because he is one of the longest guys on the floor. He has to be our guy.

He dropped 28 points on 11/16 FG shooting, he was 2/2 from the 3-pt line, 8 rebounds, 4 asts, and 3 steals. All of this in 33 minutes in one of the toughest places to play in the country.
This guy does everything. Give him more credit.
Perry could average 31/9/4/2 and people wouldn't care because they'd say he doesn't average enough rebounds.
But let Anthony Davis put up 9/13/4 and this place would go crazy. Same thing happened with Barnes last year.
Perry Jones III is the #1 prospect in this draft, It has always been that way.
Perhaps you fail to realize you are dealing with a more sophisticated group of fans here that realize there is more to basketball than ppg. The fact that Perry Jones doesn't have great rebounding or defense for a guy his size does not escape our attention.
Perry Jones is a talent and could well be in the running for first pick by time season is over, but he has to do more than just score for that to happen. Last night he was the man... now just gotta do it for full season

lol nah, he's like a Lamar Odom type player. If you watch his highlights against a good team like Baylor you'd see what i mean. A lot of people are paying attention to the big numbers the other prospects are putting up against weak teams. However, what we really need to watch is how guys perform on the marquee saturday afternoon matchups against tourney bound teams. He put up 25 pts, 8 rebounds, was 2/2 from the 3pt line, and had two blocks. not to mention he led his team back from a large deficit to win the game on the road. It's those traits we need to look for. For me it's either him or Drummond. I'm not opposed to trading Bargnani to a top 5 lottery team in order to have a chance in getting Jones III and Drummond. Can you imagine this?
SG- Derozan
SF- Jones III
PF-Drummond
C-Valanciunus
That's a killer string of players who would take us to the next level for sure after a few years of development.
Since when did mentioning how much points a star player scored in a game become a sin? Why discount him because he doesn't grab 10 rebounds and 2 blocks every game at the collegiate level. Basketball is a team game and one thing our team lacks is a scoring threat on the wing that has the length and ability to guard other players. At the NBA level he's perfect for that. Defense wins games, and your correct in that regard, but his defense is not atrocious to the point in which he should be ruled out as a top prospect. A guy like Anthony Davis has the defense you speak of but he is not by any stretch an offensive threat. We should be looking for the most balanced player possible and as of now that is Perry Jones in my honest opinion. I respect Davis's game but I'm not sold on his physique or his ability to seriously guard NBA players.

Thank you couldn't have said it better. We need an offensive player more than anything. We have all the hustle/energy guys you need. We need someone that can carry the load offensively. Plus the reason Anthony Davis has been great on defense is because of his length. Davis is a finesse player, usually they aren't amazing defenders when they get to the league. Not saying that Davis is atrocious on offense either but as of right now I would rather take PJ3 if he can play SF.

FluLikeSymptoms wrote:PJ3 has used a shake/hook move on the right block a couple times that looks like it would work against anybody. Getting position in the NBA is a different story but it looks like he can score from anywhere.
He may just be able to play both 3 and 4 equally well, hopefully well enough on defence, but maybe you stick him at 3 if he's not going to rebound anyway. Here, I think he'd be "guarding a yard" on one low side in the eventual zone so he'd have to be able to guard both forward positions anyway. If he's a tweener, there are worse defensive schemes for him.

Would you co-sign him as our pick? If not who would you favour over him?

I would have had concerns if DD'd 3 point shooting was none existent but so far it looks good. MKG is a decent spot up shooter, handles the ball real well, plays elite defense, and rebounds at a high rate. He'd have an immediate impact on our team.
