Let's hope he has similar career as Zydrunas Ilgauskas had.

Lol... you're new to the site. Read Part 1 and you'll see the hype.

Let's hope he's nearly as good as we expect him to be, especially during the first year.

So is JV in Toronto now? Reading twitter, I know that Ed flew to Toronto on the 30th. Wonder who else is there.

impossible right?

People here think Valanciunas will be better than Olajuwon. I m not very optimistic about that to be honest.....lol

I think he'll struggle this season. From what i saw from him in Olympic, he isnt ready for NBA yet. I dont like centers who arent athletic. He has length but 7'4" wingspan isnt special for a player of his size

John Henson(7'5" wingspan), Anthony Davis(7'6" wingspan) n Drummond(7'6" wingspan) may all have better length n I dont think Valanciunas is 7 foot as he has been advertised. I think he's around 6'11"

He's 6'11" barefoot, which basically makes him a legit 7 footer with shoes. 6'11 and 3/4 if you want.
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

You have no idea how long Jonas is. Thats one thing you cant take away from him. His standing reach is around 9'4'', which is ridiculous. The only 2012 draftee who comes close is The length himself, Mr. Stretchman if you will, John Henson.
Jonas' arms are insanely long even for a 7 footer. Drummond for example has freakishly wide shoulders, which is a good thing, but it also cheats in wingspan measurements a little bit. I am pretty sure Jonas has longer arms/reach. Some of combine results actually surprised me. Like Meyers Leonard's 7'3 wingspan. I swear Jonas arms were noticeably longer the last time I saw those 2 together.

Its people like u who kept overhyping Jonas Valanciunas and making him like another joke now. We Raptors fans are all seen as hyping machines by other fans.

Valanciunas may well be another Darko Milicic. Who knows? He hasnt played a single game in the NBA yet, he can be a bust. I am not very confident with a skinny european center who isnt athletic

Fans loved Adam Morrison, Thabeet, Darko Milicic n Kwame Brown after they've been drafted and before they've played their debut game in the NBA.

BTW, John Henson's standing reach wasnt even accurate, he was injured during the draft combine.

And people like you talking bs like "he isnt athletic" or taking numbers from ass " I think he is 6'11''"

Have u seen that pic with Valanciunas standing next to Terence Ross n Acy? He was like 3-4 inches taller, TOPS!

Terrence Ross however is 6'7" n Acy is 6'8"

And yes, almost all analysis ive read about Valanciunas says he isnt an explosive athlete. I think he is an above average athelte in Europe, but not very athletic in NBA

Valanciunas' future in NBA...............maybe i m the most objective Raptors fan around, but i m pessimistic. I m not as confident as u guys are.

Still very disappointed that we didnt pick Drummond or Jeremy Lamb at 8th this year

Ok, now where I over hyped him? I wasn't even talking about his skills, I was talking about his factual length. Geez, what is your problem? Your response rant makes no sense, at all. I absolutely agree that Jonas is overhyped, but how I overhyped him? Your comment was completely out of place. It was a forced trolling, you weren't even trying to make an appropriate response. It had nothing to do with my original post. Henson was injured, ok, lets say his standing reach is 9'7, i dont care... What is the difference? You think it makes Jonas look insignificant? Thats trolling.

Again, none of us said that, we know he is not explosive. Who are you talking to? Its like you had a speech prepared before this conversation even started. You did it again.
Dont like the pick, but come on, relax.

Ucan, you are trying too hard, man. You are trying to bring facts to people who don't need them, they are happy with some stuff some sister's buddy told them during some booze fest. ;)
