So we went from the need to flatten the curve, to preventing deaths to now the need to prevent 'mild' organ damage and other side effects? So pretty much there's always going to be a reason that we need to hold the populations of entire countries hostage over this virus then.

2nd hand smoke lung damage? PFFFFF! I should be able to smoke wherever I want in public, especially indoors like I used to be able to a few years ago. AMIRIGHT?!

This right here is why people need to smarten the F up. We don't know yet what it does to us after "recovery". This isn't just the flu.

Just fear tactics - fact is the flu is more deadly for kids. Covid rarely kill the young bottom line.

Feel bad for those kids, but nobody talks abut the millions that are completely healthy after battling the virus without damage months after.

Media always fishing for the scary stories for clicks.

I don't understand the logic behind the "fear tactic" idea. This virus is something new and i don't think we can positively say we know how this will effect us in the long run. If it is known to be deadly, or even known to cause damage after recovery, what makes you sure it just won't get worse from here. It certainly looks like something to fear. I have a young daughter, I don't have an option to take this lightly.

I sure hope all the people like you are right though.

This is childish hyperbole that doesn't deserve a response.

People like you are part of the problem. Each day 50-100 Canadians die and some of those deaths could have been prevented. You idiots have blood on your hands.

Almost everyone takes polio vaccine.
No polio in Canada.
Obviously polio vaccines are useless, no reason to spend money on them.

Weak article depth. "mild" organ damage in your post refers to "mild" inflammation. A common effect of respiratory diseases. More long term study is required.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Nothing evil about providing for you own family - It's not these people's job to protect you - Just stay home and you'll be fine.

This “study” used 201 people and is heavily skewed towards people who were hospitalized or had major symptoms to begin with. ie: the worst of the worst in that age group. That’s called manipulation and these studies want grant money so they’ll skew results to fit their agenda. This takes small sample size to a whole new level lol.

If you took a random sample of 200 people in Toronto who tested positive, it would be nowhere close to 70%. Not even a fraction of it or the hospitals would be overwhelmed right now because thousands of younger people are testing positive daily in Canada yet hospitals are relatively empty. With the fear generated with this virus, anyone with a persistent cough (and hair loss lol) would go straight to the hospital,

What a load of crap. And the way they ask some questions to these participants, is to get the answer they want. Like those “studies” that say wine prevents cancer and the the next day they have a study that says the exact opposite. The only real question in those studies is whose funding it.

Critical thinking people. There’s enough sheep in here to knit sweaters for half of Canada. Just when I thought people couldn’t get more gullible. Some of you are a special kind of stupid. Bravo.

The word inflammation does not appear in that article.

Here is the actual study for those with functional brains
https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.10.14.20212555v1.full.pdf

155 Definition of organ impairment
156 MRI-derived measurements from the heart, lungs, kidney, liver, pancreas and spleen were
157 compared with established reference ranges (Table S1) to determine impairment for each
158 organ. An individual organ was classified as impaired if at least one of the metrics calculated
159 for that organ was outside the reference range. Excessive organ fat was not considered as
160 an indicator of impairment on the assumption that this was likely pre-existing and thus
161 treated separately. Organ impairment was defined for each metric according to established
162 cut-offs (Table S1) and was grouped by evidence of: borderline or low ejection fraction and
163 evidence of myocarditis in the heart; reduced pulmonary dynamic measurements in the
164 lungs; elevated cortical T1 in the kidneys; borderline or definite inflammation in the liver and
165 pancreas; and splenomegaly from spleen length

I clearly stated post, not article. And thanks for providing the study's definition: measuring the organs for inflammation. ie. typically seen in many respiratory diseases. Ask any biologist.

Liver and pancreas inflammation isn't actually all that common 4 months after initial symptoms of a respiratory disease.

Who cares about a little organ inflammation anyways? I mean all it does is increases an individuals risk of respiratory infection like pneumonia and bronchitis as well as increase the risk of stroke and other cardiovascular diseases including premature vascular dementia.

Everyone should just suck it up so that bars can reopen and we can all have a drink and smoke together. AMIRIGHT?!

Look, just ask a biologist and they'll tell you that inflamed organs are a pretty standard side effect of a respiratory disease 4 months after initial onset of symptoms.

The same politicians and fools alike actually believe a safe vaccine with no side effects to “save” everyone is going to magically get us back to normal in 2021. Its hilarious.

Vaccines typically take 10 years to ensure safety. A coronavirus strain to date has NEVER produced a viable vaccine.

Insanity I tell you.

You're going to just completely ignore the snippet from the study that doesn't support your twisted agenda? You're going to latch on to the appearance of the word inflammation as it only relates to TWO ORGANS.

"low ejection fraction and evidence of myocarditis in the heart" != inflammation

"reduced pulmonary dynamic measurements in the lungs" != inflammation

"elevated cortical T1 in the kidneys" != inflammation

Just stop being a terrible citizen and find a way to do your part. Idiots like you have blood on your hands.

Stop it. You’re making too much sense. Fear mongering must persist.

The average person can't even name two side effects. If the media was truly trying to engage in fear mongering they would be talking about the long term side effects quite a bit more.

It's ok for you to be afraid. If you have the slightest bit of empathy you should be afraid for what is happening to your fellow citizens.
