That's kind of what I'm saying. It hasn't appeared to impact the team, it looks like a one-off event, and those are tough to evaluate in isolation. Sometimes, **** happens. Doesn't appear to be any strife from his teammates, which is a good sign.
And to add, look how Barnes responded after BI made the shot. Clearly he isn't holding a grudge about the water bottle. It's a nothing burger now.

Makes sense. Let's hope it stays that way and we can all just keep enjoying the team!

Found a great article on BI back in 2021 with some great tidbits:
https://www.espn.com/nba/insider/story/_/id/30736750/why-brandon-ingram-superstar-potential-matters
https://www.espn.com/nba/insider/story/_/id/30736750/why-brandon-ingram-superstar-potential-matters
Ingram urged Boylan to coach him hard, invited Boylan to "motherf---" him if necessary, whatever it took. It was the same message Ingram had delivered to New Orleans higher-ups on his first day there, when he walked into the office of Jeff Bzdelik, then the Pelicans' lead assistant, and declared, "I think I have greatness in me. I want you to get it out of me, and I don't care what you do," several in that room recalled.
Ingram smiled and took it. "I like being called out," he said. "Players at this level think they're above that. I'm still a few minutes late sometimes, but I'm much better."
"The guy watches more film than any player I've been around except maybe Chris Paul," Redick said.

I like his D. I like that his midrange, when not doubled, feels like an uncontested shot. I like that he cares and smashes the bottle, I wish Bargnani smashed some bottles back in the day if you know what I mean. And it's not like he's an ****, or he flashes a gun like Ja, or he's a nutcase like Portis.
Where he can improve is less turnovers, sometimes he is a bit less careful with the ball.

i'd love to have chris paul on this team. i do think we need a stronger veteran presence. boot temple to the coaching staff roster full time

Already completely sick of Ingram. He's just Derozan without the FTAs. Doesn't play defense, inefficient chucking, wants to be the guy but doesn't back it up, tall and long but refuses to rebound, turns it over too much.
People are going to defend him to the death the same way they did Demar, but this is a losing player archetype in today's NBA. If they can find a way to move him for a defense/rebounding PF, they should jump at it. Maybe Dallas would take him in an AD deal.

I called it when we traded for him. He's just a taller DeRozan. He's fine as a stopgap until we find a proper 1A scorer I guess, but Bobby should really get on that. Easier said than done, I know.

overreaction
Every single one of our players has a limited skill set, maybe Scottie's the most well-rounded, but he doesn't have any part of his scoring game that's considered elite.
Teams are obviously gonna scout out that Ingram's an elite mid-range shooter and they're adjust and gonna crowd him. He's not an elite iso player from the 3 point line and he shouldn't be used as such. The coach needs to find other ways to get Ingram to his spots. At the very least, he should be getting the ball from the post rather than the 3 point line.
Also, we already have trouble scoring and don't have an offensive superstar. We're missing offensive talent. Our most consistent scorer off the bench is Mamu, then we got nothing after that. Other teams have like 4-5 players who can handle the ball and score. Our guard on-ball handlers are RJ, IQ, Shead. Shead can't score. IQ and RJ are limited. Consider the depth of the Knicks, where IQ and RJ were basically throw away players for an off-ball guy like OG.

This is dumb. Where do you expect the points to come from? Look at how the team looks with Ja’Kobe Walter trying to replace RJ Barrett.

Never understood, we saw last few years with no offence players, its offence league.

This is the Ingram we traded for. He's gonna give us a lot of great games but he'll also have some stinkers.
People think we acquired a superstar that will lead us to victory every night.
We basically got Ingram for free. Be grateful.

He definitely is a DeRozan type. I'm not sure what people were expecting. And that's fine. That's what we need right now. Just keep building and if we can upgrade on him, like we did with DeRozan, go for it.

DeRozan was useful to us for years. BI is more dynamic with the bll and has more range, but he isnt Kawhi. He will have games like this from time to time. Were he better, we wouldnt have acquired him this cheaply.

I want to pump his value this season and trade him for a superstar. The BI era won't be a happy one in our history, I kind of see that coming.

Wow, sounds like an amazing plan. Not sure why I didn't think of this.
