Has anyone been keeping tabs on Dalano Banton? I am guessing he returns to Nebraska for another season. Has such high upside and is from Toronto.

Re: Draft Thread Part 2
That is quite a trip with all the covid **** going on. We could use someone like this to run our trash offense that's for sure. He would actually be a real good fit on our team tbhPsubs wrote:CoinTossRoss31 wrote:DatHomieYouHaTe wrote:https://www.si.com/nba/raptors/news/toronto-raptors-scouting-josh-giddey-for-2021-nba-draft

Start of the smokescreens?
He's this season's Maledon.
I would think that their top 10 big board is set.

Re: Draft Thread Part 2
I wasn’t aware of Ibou Dianko Badji at all until that video, but since then I’ve been trying to find as much on his as I can. Dude actually has a nice mid range and a good post hook over his left shoulder, along with good footwork and pivot moves in the post. I don’t think it’s a case of another dude that’s just huge and happens to play basketball. This kid is actually good. Hopefully Masai finds a way to get him. He looks more refined offensively than Gobert already.
Edit: just learned he can also knock down a 3 from time to time, and he hedges out beyond the 3 point line and moves his feet extremely well. I think he’s the real deal.

2020 Off-season, we lost our big men- (C/PF) - (Serge Ibaka & M. Gasol)
Bottom line: no one should be surprised that this team is with a losing record.
we need to fill both positions, we will be fine...NBA lottery
I expect the Raptors to be playoff picture next season.
I always prefer to draft a forward, but keep in mind that we will lose Lowry (or Trent/Powell).
Although we drafted Flynn and Harris, but they are no way to replace Lowry as our 1st option.

7'1, 7'8 Wingspan, 9'10 standing reach, mobile as hell, 18 y.o and has only been playing a couple of years. Monster rim protection and shot blocking inside at the very minimum.
Work on his jumpshot and we got ourselves baby Ibaka
We should grab him with one of our 2nds.
Wow thos guys a beast. And not a frail bigmen either. Hes got good size. Wide shoulders and explosive. Interesting prospect and def on masais radar
You guys gotta watch this and then search him and watch whatever you can find. There’s no holes in his game.

Am I the only one that wants to see who Masai/Bobby/Dan have has their top 3 choices? Hopefully we get there but I'd love to know if we get a chance to draft there who are they drafting and in what order.

FVV already puts up the points and assists with less turnovers and steals the balls instead of Lowry's charges.

If the pick isn’t top 3, it needs to be traded for a player who can make a big impact next year. We have no time to groom a 3-5 year project

Dang,
This guy looks like an awesome a defensive anchor. He checks a lot of boxes for us. Lob threat, switchable, good rebounder, rim protector, defensive iq, good touch on his midrange shot. I've never even heard of him before. He's probably a reach in the top 10, but also probably gone by the time we pick in the 2nd round. I guess we'll see.
That video is very impressive, I wonder why he doesnt play on senior team

By being #7 it can't be #5 but it can be top 4 which I think you mean.
1. Cade
2. Mobley
3. Green
4. Kuminga
5. Suggs
If #7 or #8, who would you trade it for? KAT? Vucevic?

I’m just gonna drop this off here
If we don’t move up in the draft and end up picking 7 or 8 I think he should be our guy. He can easily guard SGs in the nba.

This Jalen Johnson guy looks like he can do everything. Wow.
Tankathon has Raps picking him at #7. Is he another MPJ?

Yeah. I get Ben Simmons vibes from watching him as well. I feel like that's his best comparison tbh.

So Simmons with a 3-point shot? At #7?
Hmm, good year to tank.

He is actually described as a 1 and I believe he considers himself a point guard. With the way things are going in the NBA, I guess it doesn't really matter. He could absolutely play small ball 5 in the future. His defense, both man and team, is elite.
I'm just now tryna learn about the prospects. I would say I'm a big fan of him so far with what I have seen. Wouldn't be mad at all picking him with our pick.
Barnes is the guy I want, and you guys touched on most of the reasons. He essentially played point in prep and has legit playmaking skills. Florida State had very egalitarian scoring distribution, so he was 1 of 4 guys who would lead on any given night (each averaged 10-12 pts). I think his offensive game has room to grow.
Of course, this is on top of being the best wing defender in the draft (great instincts on top of physical tools), so his floor will be high regardless of his ceiling.
I would draft him at 5 over Kuminga, but acknowledge that's a stretch. Most polls seem to have him at 6 now.

If Masai makes a non-shooter pick like Giddey without trading down, and we leave higher upside guys who can shoot like Tre Mann, Bouknight, Davion, Franz Wagner, Scottie Barnes and Moses Moody on the board, Masai should just leave. This team cannot afford to pass on a Sabonis for Poeltl again in this draft. We need to get the Sabonis this time.
Our biggest team need by far is a superstar shot creator closer and no other need is close, and Masai wants to take Ben Simmons-lite smh.
My Masai/Bobby-type FRP Barttorvik queries: 4/4, zero misses

I love Barnes, I think he’s going to be a terror defensively in the NBA. Dude is literally lockdown from 1-4, and I don’t doubt he could guard some 5’s at the next level. He’s that good defensively.
Kid gets really underrated offensively. He’s one of the best handles + passers in the draft. He’s got great length, athleticism, and one of the best strides in recent memory, he’s going to be a good slasher at the next level. His form is very fixable, and I don’t doubt he can become a good shooter as well.
Barnes is one of those guys who people look back at in 5/6 years and go “damn he might just be the best player in the draft”. Kid is good.
Kid is a combination of Iguodala + Draymond Green. Me personally I like him more than Kuminga as well.

I hope Covid didn’t get in our way of having scouts out to see these guys a bunch in person
Can’t wait to see what our FO does with a top 10 pick after years of finding/developing gems late in the draft
