most of them probably come on here and reddit and then report on the speculation like it's coming from their "sources"

Exactly ... which means they have trades on the table.

If the trades were all garbage, he would have downplayed that.

Webster also called him a legend. Bobby an habitual liar.

Grange considers Hawks guard Bogdan Bogdanovich and Rockets guard Eric Gordon to be potential targets.

Sounds good....

Dragic’s contract is an asset that expires in value on Thursday, lending an urgency to the Raptors pursuit of an upgrade.

“I don’t know about [having] to [make a trade] but I think it's a unique piece,” said Webster. “There's not many of them around the league. So, you get to be in conversations that you typically aren't."

And unlike last season when the trade discussion centred around Kyle Lowry and Norman Powell – franchise mainstays at that point – deals structured around Dragic’s contract and picks are simpler; no one’s feelings are going to be hurt and any kind of positive return should provide more than Dragic – who has been away from the team on a personal leave since November – or a mid-first round pick can give Toronto.

“This year it's a bit more streamlined in a sense,” said Webster. “You kind of know what the major deal is, you know when you can add to it, sure, here's some bigger deals or smaller deals, but it does make it a little bit simpler to kind of examine the team and realize that you're not moving a major rotational piece that's currently on the team.”

The Raptors remain interested in moving Dragic’s expiring contract and are willing to add future draft assets to do it in a way they can bring back a player that can help them now and in the future.

Dragic should keep his phone handy.

“I think [he] kinda knows the game we’re in and the writing on the wall…,” said Webster. “… a fairly large expiring contract… it greases deals in the NBA which is the name of the game this week.”

There's literally no other way of adding to this core group unless we trade Dragic. We have zero flexibility in the off-season

MLE

Name the last MLE signing that worked out for us? Lol

Didn't Grange just say he expected Dragic to be traded at the deadline a few weeks ago

Bogdan+Yak would be pretty awesome. Seems unlikely though.

EDIT: nvm I didn't know Bogdan still had two more years after this season at $18M/yr. He would help, but that's pricey for a guard coming off the bench.

Bogdan Bogdanovic would be a great get and if the rumours are true about the Hawks wanting Dragic as a secondary ballhandler, the deal lines up because Bogdanovic is the type of future money that Toronto should be willing to take on. He isn't young, but he doesn't have a lot of NBA miles and he defends pretty well. HIs contract is also less than Dragic's so we actually save a bit to stay under the tax line.

Gallo is older and more fragile, the Hawks might like his semi-guaranteed deal in case they need to flip him in the offseason. Gallo only has $5m guaranteed next season. His contract is a about $3m more than Dragic so it actually might require another player to be sent out to save some money for Toronto. Not a deal breaker, but Toronto might not be willing to part with another player just for cost savings.

This leaves the Raps at $66k under the tax line

That’s a yes for me. We get upgrades at two positions, and get a young C in his prime that plays d.

I don’t see Masia giving up on Precious. Nor do i think they should, and i like Poetl.

Gordon/Poeltl/Nurkic/Bogdon are the wish list but will set my expectations lower since I don't want to be let down in case we do nothing.

I can see a bunch of people here saying how great of a non move Masai just made if we do nothing lol.

That would be the copium speaking. Dragic is just using up a roster spot at this point, get anything back in return and it'll be better than current situation.

A non move would be a disaster. We got 19m dollars just chilling in Miami, something that a lot of rebuilding teams want. There's no reason why something can't get done. Anything for Dragic would be a win.
