Re: Pascal Siakam Trade Speculation Thread
I just realized the Warriors only have 1 FRP even available to trade (2028). Their 2024 FRP that is owned by Portland is lightly protected until 2026 so they can't trade any FRPs before 2028 for the same reason as the Raptors at the moment. Past 2028 they already moved their 2030 FRP so they can't trade their 2029 FRP either.
I'm not sure where guys like Anthony Slater are getting the idea that GSW can even move multiple FRPs.

Squeeze them. Bring teams like SAC and Dallas (West contenders) into the conversation. Squeeze all of them. Make it less about the idea of extending Pascal and more about getting Pascal can increase your chances to get to the Chip.

Re: Pascal Siakam Trade Speculation Thread
I don't see GS sending an expiring like Paul out for Pascal... not with the 2nd apron pending. They would need to send out Wiggins, Klay or Draymond.
They are not dealing Klay. Probably ever.
As weird as this sounds, Draymond is probably the more desirable asset but he's 5 years older than Wiggins and has a trade kicker that makes him more expensive in the hands of another team.
So I think GS has to trade Wiggins, both for now and for the future. But Wiggins is their most depressed asset, so GS is going to have to attach something valuable to him, be it draft capital or existing pieces or some combination of both.
If there is trade dialogue going on between TOR and GS, it is centred on Pascal for Wiggins plus [blank].
Part of that [blank] has to be another $10-11M worth of salary just to make the numbers work. If they are keeping Kuminga, it gets hard. I don't see Masai wanting GPII or Looney back (injuries, Looney is owed $8m next year and GPII has a player option for over $9M) . I don't see Mike Dunleavy packaging 3-4 young bench pieces.
So if they want Pascal and they want to send out Wiggins, they kinda have to send out Kuminga.

Re: Pascal Siakam Trade Speculation Thread
We have our own salary problems where taking Wiggins would be problematic. IQ needs to be paid and Scottie's getting the rookie max in a year. We'd have to be compensated pretty well to take on a 26- 30 mill player who currently has a PER of 9

If Wiggins is coming back our way the warriors would have to give us compensation for taking on that ass contract.

Podz & Kumbucket are good compensation.

Signed with team T.W.O for the 2022-23 2023-24 2024-25 season.

That should be for Siakam alone. For taking on Wiggins as filler give us something more.

Speculation really intensified after the games in LA and with Pascal sitting last night, but I still don’t see us making a deal until the deadline itself when other teams get desperate.

It looks like it's coming down to GS and IND...which means he's getting traded to HOU or DET.

Re: Pascal Siakam Trade Speculation Thread
Siakam’s leverage of getting to a COMPETITIVE team on a max contract will be shot if Philly makes a deal that impacts their cap space for next season, unless Orlando wants him which I struggle to see a fit with Banchero.
Could be shaping up to be a Harden situation from last year where he attempted to leverage Houston to get a max contract from either Philly or Houston but then Houston pivoted to FVV.
Indiana remains an option as well if they decline Brown.
Either way, feels like Philly is being used as the bogey-man here.

Re: Pascal Siakam Trade Speculation Thread
When dealing with GSW, they don't have the assets to obtain Siakam AND dump Wiggins.
Asking price for SIakam is Paul, 2 of Podz/Moody/Kuminga and a 1st. And honestly, I don't even like that very much.
I hope that the Pacers pony up. Package I'm looking for is Mathurin, Toppin/Smith/Walker, and Hield/Brown for Siakam. I'd be willing to throw in Trent and/or Schroeder if the salaries could be worked out.

Kuminga is horrible. I don't do a deal with the Warriors just to get Kuminga and having Wiggins on your books for 3 more years. Paying 30 mill for IQ, RJ, SB + 30 mill for Wiggins? Capped out Team already. Moody & Podz >>>>>Kuminga. It has to be CP, Moody & Podz, they fit our team better compared to Kuminga. Kuminga acts like a star plays like g league player. I just want good hard working potential high end role players with upside.

headline meaning a good young player with upside. thats not kuminga
I wouldn’t rule out Kuminga becoming a useful player. Still 21. His athleticism is off the charts in a league full of incredible athletes.
He’s reached the point where if he is going to become anything it won’t be in a warriors uniform.
I wouldn’t take back Wiggins to get Kuminga and I’d be looking for something else besides Paul. So Paul, Kuminga, one of Podz/Moody, and a pick would make me think at the very least.
Id take him 10/10 the a one dimensional talent like keegan murray or a package of role players from indiana.
Kuminga had massive upside.
Like if he was a 21 year entering the league next draft he’d easily he the #1 pick.

I will take him just to take him but there's zero way he's the headline piece in a siakam trade. People talk about his numbers has to watch how he plays. Not a smart player and doesn't really bring it. We are over that
He lacks the muscle memory, footwork and mechanics plus hes forcing his game.
His upside is massive and yes, he will continue to look terrible for the foreseeable future.
He needs 1000 in game reps (whatever the number)

Wiggins / Kuminga / Moody / Pods + 2 FRPs
We get 3 youth + 2 picks because a) we need an extra carrot for taking on Wiggins contract, and b) we are giving an extra win now asset in Boucher, which other teams would give us something for.
Doesnt work money wise for GSW

If we trade Pascal to GS I’m going to need Kuminga, and Podz. And I want Gui Santos in the deal too. If not, they can go get Jerami Grant.
