Grew wrote:I was thinking the other day that Carter Bryant's game actually feels quite similar to Ace. Carter just didn't have someone press the ball into his hands and say do whatever you want with it.

Carters high school highlights are a lot of him knocking down smooth pull up jumpers, just like Ace. Neither has the handle to get to the rim by themselves, but they are good athletes who finish above the rim within the flow of the offense. Carter is an inch and a half shorter but his wingspan is better in relation to his height. Carter also has the more NBA ready body. Both these guys look smooth as can be, but they both need to figure out a handle to really become on ball players and hit their ceilings.

Carter just feels like that diamond in the rough, someone who is sort of like Ace on offense and maybe comparable to VJ on defense, while being in-between size wise. If he had been used in the way Ace and VJ were in college, I believe he has the skills to have solidified himself into being in the top 5 just like the other two. He doesn't have Ace's downside, if he never figures out how to create offense, then he's just going to be a prototypical 3+D wing. He doesn't have VJ's downside of being on the smaller side for a wing.

Could really be the steal of this draft, looks like a guy who will thrive in the NBA game.

What do you know? I swear last year this dude was like, Tyler Smith, Furphy, Antonio reeves, Ajay Mitchell, Freeman lol

You know nothing lmao

AJ Mitchell is actually a really good player. He's getting playoff minutes on a championship team that already has a lot of guard depth, even though he's a rookie 2nd round pick. It's a limited sample but on the season he shot an efficient 49.5/38.3/82.9 and has been even better in the playoffs at 53.6/45.5/66.7. I was not tracking him much last draft, but in retrospect he'd look great on our roster right now.

Once he mentioned Tyler Smith I knew he was trolling. There was no one more against Tyler Smith than I was

Yep. I was a huge fan of Mitchell coming out of the draft last year and even said we should have taken him at #31 over Mogbo.

I don’t understand how Bogoljub Markovic is being mocked so low. What am I missing? A sweet-shooting 6’11 forward with good feel and a decent handle being both productive and efficient in a good league (much better than the German league for example). The defence isn’t a strong suit, but he’s relatively athletic and I think puts on weight over time to hold up better in the post. He’s also got a ton of confidence and a non-chalance that reminds me of Jokic. I’m more intrigued by adding him and Yang than some of the names we keep bringing up on here.

Demin, Kasparas, Coward, and Essengue somehow all going in the top 10 would make for a lot of interesting prospects to choose from

yeah he's such a value add at #9. Sort of like Kon.

If they're there, you grab them. Then deal someone like Dick.

He's on my list of players I would love us to take with 9.

Ok, my turn to go on the record (separated by tiers):

1. Flagg

2. Harper

3. Tre Johnson
4. VJ Edgecombe
5. Ace Bailey
6. Jeremiah Fears

7. Kon Kneuppel

8. Khaman Maluach (not confident about this one at all, mainly here because I think other teams would value him at around #8-level value)
9. Nolan Traore
10. Carter Bryant
11. Hansen Yang
12. Derik Queen
13. Bogoljub Markovic
14. Kasparas Jakucionas
15. Colin Murray Boyles

Sleepers: Walter Clayton Jr., Noah Penda, Johnni Broome, Jamir Watkins

Wow, Yang and Markovic that high are definitely bold takes.

He's great value for sure. Man you gotta see what Dick is in year 3. That's one guy I think they keep unless he's rolled into a "Star" deal
If anyone loses minutes next season if you draft Jak, it's shead because he's 100x more talented.

Or in reality Quickley is hurt again and they both get minutes. :(

I've been saying the same thing.

You're not going to get a player that has no flaws at #9 so if you're looking for a star there, I think Kasp would be the best swing you can take.

I think he's at the very least a rotation guard who can give you 20ish minutes a night of quality play.

If you can't guarantee that by moving down you'll pick up Fleming and/or Coward, I might just take him and be done with it.

He's taller Nikola Jovic and should be drafted in the teens.

My top 4 asks are:

Maluach
Kon
Essengue
Bryant

If Fears or Johnson drop, those.would be great options as well.

I'll be happy with any of those.
