Maybe not longer than LeBron. But he can easily be an efficient 25ppg scorer even at 40.

Personally I rather focus on trading for KD than Giannis considering the cost.

I don't think the draft capital would be anything significant considering the trade packages from other teams that have been floated out there.

Ingram/Barrett/9 for Durant

Phoenix reroute Barrett/9 elsewhere for a C

I think it makes things pretty simple actually, not too many trade packages can work. It's going to be something revolving around Jak + RJ. PHX is still trying to be competitive, so both players help them on that front. The talks would be over draft compensation.

I’d rather trade for Giannis still.

Here’s one idea for Giannis:

To Milwaukee:

CJ McCollum
Immanuel Quickley
Gradey Dick
Pick swap rights from NOP returned for 2026.
Raptors #9 Pick, 2027 1st

To NOP:

RJ Barrett
Pat Connaughton
Raptors 2nd rounder #39

To Toronto:

Giannis Antetokounpo
AJ Green
Jose Alvarado

Raptors Roster post-trade:

PG Scottie/Alvarado/Shead
SG Ochai/AJ Green
SF Ingram/Walter/Battle
PF Giannis/Mogbo
C Poeltl/MLE (Horford)
I believe in Masai.

eparture via trade in coming weeks is frequently described as an inevitability. Yet there is also no shortage of cautious prognostication in circulation about the sort of package Phoenix can get back for Durant compared to what it surrendered to acquire him in February 2023.

The Suns, remember, packaged Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson and Jae Crowder to Brooklyn along with unprotected first-round picks in 2023, 2025, 2027 and 2029 … plus a first-round pick swap in 2028. It is not uncommon, two years and change later, to hear that some potential suitors are willing to make trade pitches for Durant with no assurances than the 36-year-old stays beyond the 2025-26 season. The risk of approaching it as a one-year rental as Durant enters the final season of his current contract at $54.7 million is theoretically offset by the idea that the trade outlay required to get him would be much less daunting than it was for the Suns.

Yet this is a notable change in tone from the February trade deadline, when it was widely assumed that any team trading for Durant — just like Golden State with its acquisition of Jimmy Butler — would also automatically furnish him with a contract extension.

Is that sound you hear the Toronto Raptors' music?

There have been numerous rumblings about the Raptors' interest in joining the eventual Giannis Antetokounmpo trade sweepstakes … provided that the Bucks' perennial MVP candidate actually asks out of Milwaukee at some stage. Masai Ujiri's affinity for Antetokounmpo is an open secret around the league, so you can rest assured that the Raptors have already registered their interest.

LMAO we have two capable backups, and he can play elsewhere as well. He’s the starter though.

RJ+Poeltl makes a lot of sense as the outgoing salary to match KD in a trade if Masai still wants to pursue Giannis, should he become available.

Raptors tried to move RJ in the Ingram trade (because they know RJ's next contract won't fit their future salary structure well), and Poeltl wouldn't an ideal 5 to start alongside Giannis anyway. Plus the Suns would probably value him, as they're looking for a legit starting C to upgrade on Nick Richards, and seem to still want to build a competitive team around Booker.

an expiring durant should not be too expensive imho. it would be funny if we re-do that yak + derozan deal for kawhi but now it's yak + rj for kd...though we also got danny green in that kawhi deal.

Masai would get the Suns to throw in Nick Richards as a temporary fill-in at C.

This is 100% the deal. They are keeping IQ as they need his 3’s when all these guys are creating. From zero creation we would have 2 of the top wing guys in the league go do it. They would attract and then we would need shooters to capitalize. IQ is staying. Gotta take a centre at 9. Give them a future pick.

Trading Poeltl for KD makes our team worse. Makes zero sense to go back to the days when we have zero credible C

Sounds like the Suns are done with Bradley Beal. Maybe they just sit him and let him rot until he approves a trade?

IQ + RJ make more sense.

Poeltl, Ingram, Dick, 2027 1st and 2029 1st pick for Giannis

PG Shead - JaKobe
SG JaKobe - Lawson - Rhoden
SF KD - Battle - Bryant
PF Barnes - Mobgo - Bryant
C Giannis - #39 - Chomche

It’s really tough to make the salary line up without gutting our team.

It’s far easier to make a trade for Giannis than it is for KD, IMO. This is because Phoenix is at the apron.

Barrett + Jak works, but I’d rather do Barrett + #9 + a smaller contract or two.
