That's incentive enough to draft a European, especially one who some analysts view as the next Pau Gasol.

Ya much like Andrea is/was the next Dirk. LOL.

I don't trust our scouting team to select anyone outside of North America. We have failed miserably when selecting europeans.

Watching Kenneth Faried vs. Louisville. First look at him.

Man, my bracket is about to get busted.

still perfect after two games, let's see how things shake out. UK playing now, let's see how T.Jones/Knight do.

I hope we get the number one pick and choose Kyrie Irving, because if Valanciunas is the BPA and we take him, I don't want to hear the gale-force whining that will surely erupt all over this board.

Absolutely. I can see it now.

On another note, will the whole MLSE/BC issues currently have any affect on who our pick will be?

i don't think it would make a big difference in terms of who we pick, but if things aren't resolved soon it could definitely have an impact in terms of making big trades at the draft.

I happen to like the numerous North American-born players ranked near the top of the draft this year like many others on the board but if Valancianus is eventually universally thought to be the kind of prospect that will someday become a top tier C (a lesser Gasol for example) worthy of selection in the top 5 then I kind of hope we draft him strictly to weed out the racists on this board who think that a player with white skin can't or shouldn't play basketball for this team strictly because of the color of their skin, where they were born, or the fact that we've had others before. You know who you are.

I don't care what color somebody is or where they're born. If you can help this team win lots of basketball games, and you like the city of Toronto and aren't a total headcase in the locker room or to the press... I want you on my team.
