I don't want Jonas to put on dead weight and lose his advantage like Bargnani did. How be do you need to be in order to pick off a PG? Those feet need to be quick as can be. If he's meant to be wiry, so be it- if you're milking the Jonas pick/roll then the other 5 needs to be worried about matching up with Jonas (and Lowry), not the other way around.

Adding 25 lbs is not as hard when you are a 7 foot giant, rather than a 5 foot nothing skinny guy.

Bargnani was only "slim" early in his career and he was horrible. Conditioning is obviously really important for him but he's a big guy and will remain so. Youtube his highlights of last season and you'll see he was plenty nimble for his size.

When you first start weight training heavily you gain quite a bit of weight easily but then the growth tapers off after a while. After which point gaining 10-15 pounds of muscle in a year is about as much as you can add. That is assuming you do everything right with your diet and training. That doesn't even factor in the high amount of cardio he will be doing.

Bargnani looked good last year because he lost some of the weight he gained and was moving very well. He was at the right weight. He was not horrible as a rookie at all, at his skinniest, he was horrible when he was too big for his game. I don't want Jonas to get too bulky, mobility is key for him as it is for Bargnani.

The myth of rookie Bargnani's greatness is ridiculous. He could not box out, could not defend the post, could not do much of anything except shoot 3s and foul.

After working on his strength (summer with JO), his game started coming along. He started being able to defend on the block, post up smaller defenders, his rebounding technique improved (even if the results didn't), was better at drawing fouls and finishing in the lane. Watch this season, Andrea is going to come in plenty big and strong, and he's probably going to his best season to date.
