Shaq, Jordan and DRob what a rare company to have, the outlier is Tinsley but that guy was a dog much like Lowry who was outshined on that deep Pacers team. Again what does those guys have in common? They were dominant.
Amazing company. But, of course, that only leaves me wondering about the outlier. How the hell did Jamaal Tinsley get 5 blocks in a game?
Tinsley was 6'3 with a 6'6 wingspan, so he was a pretty big point guard. He got the 5 blocks in his 11th game, against Minny, who at the time had an older Terrell Brandon who was 5'11. So maybe Tinsley bullied the smaller and older Brandon to get those blocks.
Yeah, I remember him being a bigger guard, 6'3" sounds about right. Not only big, I have a vague recollection of him being fairly fast when he was younger too, in his Iowa State days (I'm pretty sure that's where he played), but he slowed down as he got older, and was never a consistent shooter.
So I think you're probably spot on with how he got them if Brandon was his matchup that game. And maybe a couple of them were Fred VanVleet "blocks" that were really more like steals, but got credited as a block because the player was starting to go up for a shot.
Anyway, back to Scottie! The guy just continues to impress.
