Heh, talk about burying the lede if it's Millsap/Jefferson + 13 for 5. I'd want no part of Jefferson in that deal, though.

It's all, about what Utah wants to give up. If they are that high on both Kanter and Knight, they can get both, with this deal. Toronto my want Knight, but without this deal, he Utah will take him and Cavs take Kanter, and that leaves Tor looking at Val, Walker, Leonard, Vesely, Byombo, count back to 12 and one of those players, and Tobias Harris, or Jimmer should be there.

While, it sucks for us, it's not how high we value Kinight or Kanter, because Cle and Utah could nab them both. It's about what Utah give up. Even Raja Bell, would go along way on improving this team.

As trade partners this makes sense, but as I told him in response, I can't see the Raptors taking on Jefferson or other big salary. Not until we see if there is an amnesty.

A deal that would interest me would be 5 for 12 + Gordon Hayward and Raja Bell, but Hayward's another white deliverer to the fans in Utah.

Hearing some within the @Utah_Jazz believe UT should take Kanter 3rd & then trade #12 to the #Raptors for #5 & Brandon Knight.

This makes no sense. But the Raps and Utah are possible trade partners if we deal down.

as I tweeted at you.

Harris and Hayward come to mind...

I doubt raps would be willing to let knight get away from them but If utah sweetend the deal enough. Perhaps Calderon and 5 for harris hayward and 12 then it would be worth it.

Otherwise they should try trade for the 4th pick. millsap and 12 for the 4th..

But I wouldn't trade down just for Bell, he's not part of any long term plan. Like I said, insist on Hayward or a future Utah first round pick. They aren't that good that that pick would turn bad overnight.

I'd trade the fifth for 12th and a Favours, or Heyward, or combo of Bell and 2012 first rounder.

Bell will be 35 in September and posted an 8.2 PER last year. Given that his contract runs two more seasons, I think he has neutral value at best -- but more likely, he's a negative.

PBTalk's scenario makes little sense with us taking back Milsap, or Jefferson, seeing as their reasoning, is we take Byombo, but we get two bigs, and lose none. Forcing us into a must trade of one or two bigs going into the lockout. Can Milsap play the three?

I put Bell in as a cap dump for Utah to offset some of the value they'd give up in Hayward. The 9th pick in last year's better draft would be perceived as a lot to give up for moving up in this draft.

Jazz are pretty high on Hayward, so I'd expect a 2012 1st rd'r or something.

I wouldn't do it just for Bell, but his value for us would be floor stretching and def and toughness. He can hit open threes, or has shown the ability too, and he's doesn't take plays off, and he doesn't take crap. IMO, for little money, and playing time requests, he'd add a lot of "stuff" we need. That's why I'd say he'd improve our team.

Ya, they are high on Hayward, but if they want to score a big double in this draft, it won't come cheap. I'd take their first next year to swap picks only if protection is minimal.

Yup. They also have GSW's 1st rd'r too next year, I believe. I don't know what the protection is on that.

Would Harris into our TPE + 12 for our 5th pick make sense? I need to give it more thought, but if Bismack is there @ 12, then I probably pull the trigger.

Why would we need another $9 million, mediocre, poor defending point guard? I'm not fan of Harris. This would be pure treadmill stuff.

Harris Hayward 12 Calderon 5th

at this point I just playing devils advocate as I want knight or Val and think Utah would really have to wow us...

edit: If we were able to get Biyombo at 12

Coming out of the draft stronger at 3 positions would look pretty good...

I wouldn't do that. Harris is 28 now, I really don't see him as much of a longterm solution here at all. I'd really rather just give Bayless the minutes than bring in another PG on a big contract and have more of a logjam to deal with. There's no way I'd trade down the #5 pick with Utah unless Favors or Hayward is involved (and they likely won't be).
