At 9-12 where do you stand?

Tank World Order: Hope the team continues its downward trajectory so that they can add another top lottery pick talent to the core of Barnes and OG?

That actually is a significant disadvantage. Leave it to TwO to ignore the importance of it though.

Here are some numbers for you.

"Of the four major American sports, home-court advantage is most meaningful in the NBA, with teams consistently winning around 60 percent of their regular season games in their home arenas.

But does this trend carry over into the playoffs?

Statistics drawn from NBA.com help answer that question with a resounding yes. In fact, the following numbers show that is it harder to win on the road in the postseason than it is to win on the road in the regular season.

From 1998-2008, home teams in the regular season won 7,021 games while losing 4,569 games for a winning percentage of 60.6.

During this same period of time, home teams in the postseason won 513 games while losing only 278. The winning percentage in the playoffs for home teams was 64.9 (more than four percentage points higher than it was for home teams in the regular season)."

Guys, no one on here is saying this team is a championship contender. All we are saying is that this team when healthy is a .500 team which is what we have seen so far considering we are 14-17 despite trotting out a G-League lineup the past week and having our full starting lineup in just 3 games this year.

I don't know why you guys have such a hard time acknowledging basic facts. To deny home-court advantage is just a blatant disregard for facts and common sense.

You guys have denied the impact that missing your best players has on a team, now you guys are denying home-court advantage. I'm actually curious to see what you guys have up your sleeves next.

The perfect time for TWO. Home games with no fans and away games with fans.

We play the injured next clippers and the Knicks who just lost Randle to protocols and Rose to that injury earlier. Two fake wins coming up.

Just face it we’re too good. Embrace the playoffs I think we can beat Brooklyn no team scares me we are very close to being elite.

There's a chance he gets traded somewhere at the deadline where he can start at the 4 or 5 and be really productive, I'd guess maybe Charlotte at the 5 or Minnesota at the 4.

lol well I’m playing devils advocate because I really don’t care to discuss tanking philosophy but here goes.

The cavs tanked for lebron and could no longer tank because lebron was too good. He then left and came back because they tanked and got kyrie and used other lottery picks to get Thompson and trade for love and the rest was history.

Only that's not true and you know it.

Lebron is from Ohio. Cleveland never made the playoffs when he was in Miami. So clearly tanking didn't make them a good team as they never made the playoffs. He wanted to bring a championship to Cleveland and he did. If he wasn't from there, he'd have never gone. And Kyrie, Thompson, Waiters and Bennett is a terrible tank job.

The likeliest way to win a championship other than be a top 5 FA destination is probably to be a solid free agent destination AND tank for a few years first to get some cheap young talent including a star or two. Cleveland happened to hit that double because LeBron wanted to come back and they got a star in Kyrie and a high value first in Wiggins they moved for Love, along with a decent starter in Thompson and 2 misses in Waiters in Bennett (which you're gonna have a miss or two). Lakers same post-Kobe with the tanking wining them the AD sweepstakes.

So if you could bet on the 2028 title, apart from Dallas with 28 year old Luka and Charlotte with 26 year old Lamelo and maybe, you might go well go with Orlando and Houston (not huge FA destinations but not Sacramento or Indiana either) since if they can hit on couple picks (and Franz Wagner looks good) they should have tons of capspace for some star in 2026 or 2027 to join when they're a free agent. Detroit also in a nice spot because Cade looks good, Bey solid and they should have top 5 picks the next couple years. Same for OKC with SGA (though he can leave as a UFA by the time they're a contender), Giddey and their extra picks.

It'll be interesting to see if the Heat finally look to rebuild one Lowry and Butler age out of stardom, if they can't get a free agent star to pair with Bam and Herro.

we aren't though. we were expecting to win around 35 before the season by the oddsmakers and what would have changed by now? We still have no backup PG, good Center or bench. 9-11 seed is still the most realistic outcome.

Your numbers are from 2008. Regular season home court advantage has been in a steady decline since 2013. That 60%+ you quoted is now around 54%. It's not the advantage it once was.

John this isn't cool to condone a user threatening violence against another one. We have our disagreements, but this is bigger than RGM or basketball.

We "played down to our competition" but ended up pulling away at the end. Once Scottie gets back and this lineup gets some time together it will be fun to watch.

OKC beating NYK in the 4th, Atlanta struggling to beat a mediocre Cleveland team. Wonder when TwO will realize that we are a middle of the pack team.

Sweet victory tonight for our rusty team.
