At least the Celtics suck. :D

Having a 7'3 C and prioritizing a backup C? Huh.

Its a good deal. Spurs traded Zach Collins their backup Center to the Bulls last year. He makes about $15 mil per year. They got a legit backup Center that should be able to play on the floor with Wemby for $10 mil per year for 4 years. And he can shoot. Thats gonna age well.

Cuz he stinks

Might as well hang onto Castleton

Garza is like the TJ McConnell of centres, you think he sucks and then he kills you, and then you still think he sucks.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

All 4 teams in the conference finals had 7fters that played significant roles. Turner and Chet are like the poster boys for stretch bigs who also protect the rim.

It's looking more and more like we need a versatile 7fter. Either one who can shoot or one who can catch a lob, while providing some rim protection.

That's not a revival though lol floor spacing bigs that can defend have never went out of style. They're also at a big premium because they are hard to find.

You are tripping right now. This season showed, that a classical big that can defend is vital for any team to succeed. It does not mean, that a team has to play them 48 minutes a game, but depending on the match ups, it will be needed. Is it nice if they can shoot? Yes. But not necessary, as we have seen these playoffs. Turner for example is brought up as a strech 5 constantly. He was shooting 3.9 a game at 34%, but the shooting got worse, the longer the Playoffs went. Against the Knicks he was only 7 for 22 (31,18%) and against OKC 6 for 28 (21,42%).

Essentially, none of the bigs have been good shooters, or in Kats case it was even worse as he is a bad defender.

Is anyone arguing you don't need a big on the roster that can defend at the rim?

I'm only saying it's not really a revival when you consider how small teams went during these playoffs.

People here complain that Garza is garbage and then they complain the raps don't have a backup 5.

People here expect prime Shaq on a minimum to back up Jakob

Don't really see it. Ochai isn't comparable because he only has 1 good year and he's only played on bad teams. There's always a premium for production on a good team. I still think he's getting probably around 10m a year on a contract similar to Okoro.
