I'd also favour that stud player from the Lakers

hey maybe Nurse ruined Fred. Had it been Spo with some discipline Fred wouldn't have gotten a huge head and turned into a mega douche self importance ball hog. (i mean that's probably who he IS but a good coach would have put a leash on him) I think everyone would have been fine with Fred sticking to his strength and role like it was in 2019.
We needed a 18 mil Fred playing behind Lowry, not 25 mil Lowry wanna-be.

Dude just came off a season averaging 27/7/4 on good efficiency while being a good defender that has consistently performed in the playoffs. It feels like some people are putting way too much weight in the last 2.5 games where Brown's three-point shooting has abandoned him and the entire Celtics team has looked out of sorts. Prior to this series, he was averaging 25/5/3 on 63 TS% in the playoffs while he put up 23/7/4 on 58 TS% in last year's playoff run. He has actually performed very well in the playoffs historically.

Brown is in a similar tier as Siakam (elite 2nd options and I think Siakam is the slightly better player overall because of his playmaking), but he is also 2.5 years younger and there is some more room for improvement. You more than likely can't win it all with either of them as a #1 option, though they'd probably actually work really well as a duo. It's possible the Tatum/Brown duo is playing its last games together and I'd love for us to go out and get Brown, but we aren't getting him for OG lol.

I’d love to get Brown as well without trading Pascal. Pascal and Jaylen could work. The question is what would it take? I don’t think we have picks to trade until next year’s pick conveys.

they're in win now mode; i'm not sure they take fred; no one else is good enough.
maybe brown for the 3rd pick + simons if they don't think brown will stick around

I’m actually not even enjoying this. I legitimately feel sick with what I’m seeing. Celtics look like they quit. They have the most talented team in the league with a super talented, young duo. But as talented as they are it’s fair to question their mental toughness.

I said this the other day but it really makes me appreciate the players from our championship team. Even last year with a young, inexperienced squad we fought in game 3 and then managed to win games 4 and 5. Three years ago we went 7 games against Boston despite having a big man rotation of Gasol and Ibaka who were essentially out of the league a year later lol.

This Boston team has some serious questions to answer in the off-season. They are just way too talented to be playing like this.

Live and die by the 3. Shades of Houston Rockets. 3's are too high variance to rely on them solely. Still not over, but where does Boston go from here?

Why was Miami not good during the season? They almost didn't even make the playoffs. Had we beat Chicago, we had a good chance against them.

We don't have a Jimmy, and our playstyle was flawed, but it would've been cool to see us flip a switch like this and go on a run.

It was for the best though. Changes were needed.

It would be in their best interest to find a new HC and move on from Horford and Brown. They have good pieces in place.

Please don't go there, Siakam and Jaylen Brown together on max deals would be an unmitigated disaster. It's not even worth discussing or debating.

And who knows what would’ve happened had Giannis not gotten hurt.

Usually this board overrates the crap out of players on other teams, but now there's a bit of underrating of Brown going on now. He has a net neutral career RTG in the playoffs. He is an AVERAGE player in terms of overall efficiency perceived as a superstar. He's a turnover machine who doesn't really get to the line a lot, rebound well or get stocks although his defense is alright.
I'm not sure how you've come to those conclusions. Brown has been a +4-ish NetRTG player in the playoffs his last 3 appearances and his efficiency has been very good over the same span (59 TS% on 26 USG% while scoring 23 PPG). He's not a superstar, but he's probably a top 25ish player and he still has at least 4-5 years in his prime.
