1-I feel like Patterson b/c of his age and the length of Novak's contract
2-Psycho T, he is a good value contract and Hayes in contrast is a bit overpaid
3-100% agree

Pistons fan here.

I think you guys were smart to divest yourself of the horrendous Gay contract. You guys need to build around Val and otherwise clear out the gunk, and Gay was gunk.

Val can become one of the better C's in the league, and because of that, you guys could have a good future. I don't see that you have much of a chance of a fine tank position in the draft - you'll either make the playoffs or finish something like in the 10th - 15th spot in the draft. But you had to begin this process and your job now is to turn as many of your other players as possible into future assets (either by developing some of them and keeping them - maybe Ross) or trading them while they have value around the league (Amir, Derozan).

Would you guys pull the trigger on Valanciunas to Denver for the Knicks 1st rounder?

I'm sure someone's suggested this, or variations on it but I'll do so anyway:

Perkins + Lamb for Novak, Hansborough and Hayes.

Demar, Lowry and Ross for Ridnour, Butler, Giannis and a future 1st. << this is how much I value Giannis. Still not sure if Milwaukee does this, but a starting 5 of Lowry, Mayo, Demar, Ilyasova and Sanders is a playoff team and they could possibly extend Lowry as well. They have a pretty sick (young) bench too, with Knight, Middleton, Ross, Neal, and Pachulia. A little guard heavy, but they could do a follow up trade for Jason Thompson to alleviate some of that.
I believe in Masai.

Or, if they want a more permanent starter...

Lowry + Amir + DD for Boozer + Hinrich + CHI 2014 1st AND CHA 2014 1st.

You know they'll be desperate soon.
They lost to milwaukee tonight, hinrich shot 0/10 and they're already desperate enough to go for augustine.
It would be sweet if we could get the Charlotte pick in Lowry trade.

I'd tweak it just a bit and say Lowry + Amir for Boozer + Snell + the more favourable of CHI 2014 1st or CHA 2014 1st.

Haven't checked it in trade machine but might have to throw in a bit of salary filler.

I actually think this is a fair deal for both sides. For CHI they continue to compete this year, they get a long term replacement for Boozer, and maybe most importantly they dump salary for next year (which would've held them back from re-signing Deng or signing anyone new).

For Raps I love Snell's potential, I can live with the Boozer contract for next year, and the pick speaks for itself.

The Nets get insurance for DWill in return for the struggling Pierce. The Raps get a young back-up Centre for JV and rid themselves of the Fields and Novak deals.

I'd pull the trigger on this but they don't get Novak. I'd want to package Amir and Novak for Asik instead.

Why would you want Asik when you would have JV and Plumlee?

Asik can be flipped later for perhaps more value than the combined parts it took to get him. Every team needs a C and Asik is pretty good. Teams that are desperate for one (arguably OKC or even Boston) would pony up.

I don't like it personally. If Lowry and Amir are packaged together, I want picks and expirings. I have no interest in taking back Boozer's deal and trading away the capspace we created by moving Gay.

Just cooked up this massive but sorta realistic deal. Do it Sunday!

To GSW:
Amir
Lowry
Buycks
Stone

To Toronto:
Harrison Barnes
Mareese Speights
Toney Douglas
Jermaine O'Neal
Nedovic

It would make GSW far better. Amir and Lowry fit there like gloves. The Raptors get Barnes to groom on a rebuild team. It helps the tank for sure. Not to mention, the return of JO!

OKC trade

Post#1556 » by RapsGotThis » Wed Dec 11, 2013 5:12 am

Hi, I'm sorta new to this... Don't know what I'm doing exactly, but what do you guys think?

Raps get: Lamb, 2014 first round (Dal), 2014 first round (OKC)
OKC get: DeRozan, Landry Fields and 2014 2nd round pick

For the raps, we are tanking so we get 2 picks in a deep draft and a young player with potential in Lamb... We also get rid of Landry fields horrible contract, and we get rid of DeRozan to help our tankin efforts......

For OKC they get DeRozan who is improving very well yearly, and putting up close to all-star stas, he can be like their new James Harden, this will help them get ahead of the other competitors and can help them win a championship.. They lose 2 deep picks, which is not very valuable to them as they are not rebuilding...

Would do you guys think?

It would be good to dump Landry, but OKC is cheap, they are not going to pay DeRozan and Landry a combined 14million, they would've just kept Harden.

Have to believe Knicks say yes to Felton/Shumpert for Lowry now, Lowry just fits their needs so much right now and Tim Hardaway Jr. is now their Buzz Lightyear to Shumpert's Woody. Don't know if we can do better for Lowry despite Shump's play this year. He is talented.
It's going to be a glorious day... I feel my luck could change

I'd love this trade, but i don't think OKC would do be willing to take on the contracts.

Edit: Plus OKC can't take back $15 Mill in contracts and give up just $2Mill.
