I do like some of the above comparisons. But what is clear, is how dumb those Draymond comparisons were. Draymond has never averaged as many points as Scottie on anywhere near the same efficiency. And Scottie is 20 years old. And by no means am I saying that Draymond is not a good player to be compared to. But it's quite clear that Scottie is just on another level in terms of talent. There are levels to this.

Lol idk what Antoine Walker has to do with anything because he certainly was not like Scottie. Incredibly random.

I am random. So random.

To me, the comparison was simply 'Toine did a bit of everything. Could I ever say he did one thing great? Nah. Jack of all trades.

Scottie so far is a jack of all trades the first 2 months of his NBA career. Just does a bit of everything. Can't say he has mastered anything just yet.

Exciting times!

Doubt it. Mobley fit like a glove and his transition from College to the NBA was seamless. Everyone in TwO/draft circles knew he was going to be great and arguably had the highest ceiling. It's just no one thought he'd show out this way in year one. But Scottie has been the biggest surprise out of the draft. No one saw this coming, not even Masai I don't think.

Scottie is an anomaly of sorts.

Just can't see Masai loving the idea of a big man without primary ballhandling skills as a franchise type pick.

Hard to find Siakam (as if he qualify), but OG is also there, slightly below Barnes.

I figured that Mobley would be like Anthony Davis, but durability issues will be a question throughout his career due to his frame.

I guess that's the same with Chet this summer and Wembanyama next summer.

Even AD though was a go-to post scorer pretty much from the start - do you really see Mobley as that kind of guy? i dunno. maybe.

I just don't know if he's ever going to be the guy you want to put the ball in his hands anywhere on the court for the final shot. But I could be wrong.

Son Goku 25 wrote:I'm sure this has been said many times but you can just tell Barnes is special because of his understanding of the game. He's shouting plays and what to do to players who've been in rhe league 4+ years already.

I'm shocked to see his offensive game grow so quickly but it's likely due to his ball handling and IQ. You barely see him making a bone headed drive where you see an offensive foul from a mile away. He is poised as any player and doesn't force things, makes his teammates better and can score when he wants, is great defensively and a great leader... almost sounds like Lebron in terms of impact? Lol to top it off, he has that sort of personality you see in superstars that lead not just their team but rhe entire league.

There was a play against GSW where he basically took the ball and called for a weakside pindown and then threw the screener open for a layup, that he missed (can't remember who it was).

There's very few guys who can just take the ball and be like, "Listen dummies, here's 2 points. Enjoy."

The amazing thing about Barnes is he never looks rushed out there and is always playing at his pace. Usually takes rookies time to adjust but Barnes looks like he's been playing for years with how under control he is. This kid is going to be fun to watch for the next 8 years. If he makes a huge leap forward next year we might have a near superstar

Meh...just because it's a slow day and nothing like some Scottie content to brighten it up.

The kid though is seriously a walking highlight reel. Not even halfway through his 1st season with none of our crazy summer development work and he already has a more impressive looking HL than anyone else on the roster does for their careers lol

Scottie will be a top 10 player and superstar in this league, we got insanely lucky finding this gem.

I notice he’s a bit less animated nowadays after he makes a big play. Already focused on winning.
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

Second highlights, halfcourt swish. If only he'd made the same one to beat the Nets, what a legend
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

Sadly, he's not the only one . I know it's stupid to even think about at this point, but when you have a player this good, it's kind of hard (for me at least) not to think about it. Obviously I'm hoping he's the first ever Raptors lifer but that kind of loyalty, from both franchise and player, is so rare these days.

The key to this is Scottie will meet a toronto woman during his first 4 years.

Return to Toronto Raptors
