Re: Tank World Order (7.0)
WIthout Fred taking 18 shots a game, other players know they will get to shoot again if they miss their shots helps with their confidence.
If Fred was playing, once you miss your first two he will take away your shots and jack up his own because of the pecking order.
The pecking order exsist for truly great offensive option like Curry. Not for a streaky jumpshooter like Fred.

Yet...keep popping back here. Incredible.
I never left, this thread's more fun. More to the point, both threads are disingenuous, and the intent to polarize what's really the same discussion is just stupid.
There's not really any "tanking" happening - maybe some opportunistic sitting of players towards the end of the season as we saw last season, but certainly no multi-season roster blow-up in the traditional sense of the word. On the "other" side, there's no real desperation to make the playoffs at all costs, but I know it makes people here more comfortable to categorize people. It also makes for funnier memes.
People don't "belong" in any specific thread, especially when they try to bottle an open discussion. You can keep trying though
Go read the other thread after reading this one, and tell me that the same conversations are happening. They're not.
What is stupid though, is having the same circular arguments with people you disagree with, instead of having constructive ones in another thread with more like minded posters.
Hey Reeko. I just wanna say thanks for creating the PwO thread and finally "Modding" this thread. Its gotten out of hand and the fact that even you can realize the above is refreshing.

Then Masai and Bobby start making moves.
Ultimately, Pascal and Senior won't be it as the go-to guys on the offensive side of the ball. Great contributors with the 'chip run. Not going to happen as the go-to guys. If they accept a lesser role in the next few seasons...aight. If not? Yeah...not gonna cut it.
Once Senior starts to concede a bit more playmaking and ball handling duties, everyone will be better off.
I know you're team Chet. But other than Chet who do you like in the draft?
Literally, anyone![]()
This squad needs help. Badly.
Now that's a fact.

What is this pecking order? Scottie Barnes is in the pecking order anyways he's scoring like 15 a game. He's not one of the best offensive options on the team anyways.

Let's playin for 9th!

It’s the narrative that because people want Scottie facilitating the offence that we must all also want him heaving shots like our current ‘facilitator’ does. But what most fail to appreciate, is that we want Scottie running the offence because we think he’ll do a better job of getting others involved, and subsequently heaving less for himself comparatively.

I usually watch a lot of hoops but it's been even more this year, and a large part of that is because of this unicorn of a draft class.
Cade and Mobley are franchise cornerstones, Kuminga looked amazing last night, Giddey has looked like he belongs in that game-changer convo for stretches. Wagner too. Herb Jones and Duarte have started (the former continues to) and look really good. Jalen Green's talent is undeniable (that Rockets roster/situation is garbage). Even Suggs has looked like he's going to be fine (his D has looked great and while his efficiency is low, his shot mechanics and deep-range look solid). I'm sure I'm missing guys, and there are a bunch more that have shown flashes and promise (I love Bones Hyland).
Just a remarkable draft year.

The Pecking Order is a mad funny name, though.
Don't know who made that up or where it came from.

Herb Jones looks amazing too. His defense is really good and his offense is coming along.

well, if Detroit sucks for another 2 years and they can pick up Chet/Smith this year and next year Scoot/Wembanyama they will be very relevant real quick.

ORTG Fred ON: 111.6
ORTG Fred OFF: 104.4 (lowest on team)
I think most fans would prefer that the team just run offense and not adhere to any type of pecking order, but reality is it exists on every NBA team. Guys need to know their role so there's order on the court. If not, there's just too much money involved and guys get selfish. NBA history is littered with examples of this.
RE Fred, his shot attempts went way up once he moved off ball. This is not a case of him calling his own number all the time. When he has the ball he usually passes. When he's off ball his teammates usually look for him because he's the best shooter on the team. It's pretty tough to paint him as the source of any ball movement problem when he's spending so much time off ball.

It's a stupid as hell concept to complain about for our team though. I mean Freddie and Siakam and FVV are already ball distributors for our team, they also take a lot of shots since they're the best offensive options. I mean at some point the NCAA bench player and OG may be ready for bigger roles/mo'shats/what have you but that time is not now. Perhaps we should be getting svi and precious more looks. GTJ doesn't shoot it enough right?
Maybe yall fooling me with your high level sarcasm and trolling games and you're totally fine with FVV in his current role. Well done.
