ya its not like McCollum is young either or a 5x all star. He's 29yo and 0 all star appearances. lol

maybe not for Ibaka and Powell but its like they aren't willing to trade this guy for 0 reason.s

I’d love to trade CJ in a package for a 2 way player that improves POR.

Trading for depth is not that trade.

lets analyze this a little: Would not be surprised if Powell put up the similar stats as McCollum if he were starting tbh and you get better defense with Powell. Powell is a better 3 point shooter too in his most recent seasons. don't know if Powell would be depth when he can easily be your starting SG. and 2 years younger.

Ibaka would play and replace Zach Collins. but then again you started Melo as well and depended too much on effort from Whiteside - whom you should trade away and run with an Ibaka/ Nurkic front court - pair them up or ibaka as depth - Ibaka's ability to stretch the floor too great of an asset for Dame.

However Raptors would not want CJ and rather want/have FVV. defense first.

If POR is moving CJ it won’t be for an inferior 6-3 sg and a backup

https://stathead.com/basketball/pcm_finder.cgi?request=1&sum=0&player_id1_hint=CJ+McCollum&player_id1_select=CJ+McCollum&player_id1=mccolcj01&idx=bbr__players&p1yrfrom=2020&player_id2_hint=Norman+Powell&player_id2_select=Norman+Powell&player_id2=powelno01&idx=bbr__players&p2yrfrom=2020

you may look at the stats and find that they are very comparable. Norman Powell at a fraction of the cost.

or McCollum at the same age:

https://stathead.com/basketball/pcm_finder.cgi?request=1&sum=0&player_id1_select=CJ+McCollum&player_id1=mccolcj01&idx=bbr__players&p1yrfrom=2018&player_id2_hint=Norman+Powell&player_id2_select=Norman+Powell&player_id2=powelno01&idx=bbr__players&p2yrfrom=2020

I'm just calling it as it is. If Norman Powell was starting for the Raptors, he would be on the same career path as McCollum lol. 0 all star appearances but an integral part of the team where he becomes overvalued.

Lol fr if I was trading Norm and Ibaka in a package I’d be expecting a legit 2 way star. Someone like Oladipo

Oladipo is for sure better than McCollum but i don't think that package gets it done on its own. probably have to attach 1-2 FRP at the rate these fringe star players like Jrue are getting.

Powell and Ibaka are not getting star, or even CJ.

Kevin Love maybe.

I can see us bringing back Fred on a 4-5 year deal. I could see us bringing back Ibaka on a big 1 year deal. I can also see the same with Gasol, or even a small MLE type deal with Big Bizness/Harry Giles!

I'd be down with that.

Atlanta has a bunch of youth bigs now. Would love to see a TD for Bruno Fernando. Could learn alot under Serge.

Ya, I thought about this a while ago. At Maryland he was playing in front of Jalen Smith. Fernando just can't shoot from outside.

What about Wendell Carter from Chicago? TD, McCaw, Stanley and Dewan?

Not a huge fan of his TBH. Never understood why the bulls picked him and its a bit of a red flag that they were prepared to send him out with #4 to get #2. Still think Carter has more value than that package though.

As far as Fernando not showing range...that doesn't mean much to me anymore. Robin lopez took 51 3PA in his first 11 seasons making 11 of them. Last season he made 35 of 105 for 33%. Fernando can hit 3s if he commits and Serge would be a perfect example. TD is a fair deal for him too.

Return to Toronto Raptors
