The two best rookies in the top 8 so far. (Cade still injured) We all know Barnes’ assist, steal and block numbers will go up eventually but man oh man both guys have been impressive.

Of all the possible offseason trades swirling around Siakam this year, the talk of the Cavs giving up their pick for win-now moves was the most enticing.

Still wonder if a Siakam + FVV for their garbage + Mobley would have done it. They obviously don't do it now, but wonder what Masai was dangling as he obviously talked with all of these teams.

We tried moving up that's for sure, it was reported. But I think we probably didn't want to give up Siakam or OG and they probably wanted the 4th pick in return as well.

Cade will probably benefit from his late start, and Casey ball.

I don’t think so, he missed training camp, jumping into nba basketball without preseason to ease him in, not to mention he’s coming off a leg injury.

He’s probably gonna have a slow start because of these factors, if not then he’s truly special.

It’s like the better players you put around Barnes the better he becomes due to his skill set

Don't worry about the wins and losses boys. As long as Scottie is developing and looking like a future star we are set.

Yup. This season is all about Scottie's development, scared the hell out of me when he limped off the court yesterday   Thank god it wasn't serious.

I really feel like drafting Scottie was like catching lightning in a bottle. He might turn out to be the best player this team has every drafted or will draft in a long while.

He blows all my expectations out of the water.

It high key bothers me that we haven't been running our sets through Barnes as a primary playmaker, while FVV dribbles the air out of the ball and into traffic time and time again.

I hated the pick at the time but the early indications are extremely promising. I've learned to trust Bobby and Masai especially when it comes to draft picks.

Yup. Which is why I've been wanting to have Barnes play PG and make FVV the SG.
In Masai We Trust :meditate:

It's really ugly offensive ball to watch. I'm sure Nurse wanted to see how good Barnes looked out there before scheming a bunch of stuff for him. Hopefully he will start doing exactly that soon.

You could already see he was a better passer than FVV in college. FVV is a SG stuck in a PG's body.

A certain sign that the guy you've drafted is special: you're already projecting how good he's going to be in 7 years and you're dreading his unrestricted free agency.

I'm insecure, so what?

Dude always looks like hes trying to escape the apocolyse just bringing the ball up the court, his size makes everything seem labored.

Meanwhile Scottie is looking like Simmons/Bron bringing up the ball with maximum security.

Do you remember when we used to argue about Barnes vs Mobley in the draft threads?

I guess we both liked the right guys.

Both seem to be early favourites for ROY.

The draft was stacked tbh. Green and giddey and Davion are all having good games tonight too.
