eh. Bam Adebayo is one of the best C's in the league and he's 6'8 barefoot. His problem isnt gonna be height, it's gonna be strength. He needs to hit the weight room

IIRC the Heats board seem to agree that Bam is too small when it comes to defending the likes of Embidd or Jokic.

Bam is 6 feet 8.75 inches barefoot, and Heat fans have been saying the exact point about him. At least Bam has the strength to be a quality undersized Centre. Precious is 6 feet 7.5 inches, and does not have the strength of Bam. He is best suited at the PF spot in my eyes.

Precious has been pretty great. He's developing some nice chemistry with Flynn, especially on the PnR. Could be a nice duo off the bench.

Rexdale needs to work on his 3 ball, but his handles and playmaking at his size are so intriguing. He makes passes you dont think are possible and he's very good in transition. He's also getting into the lane off the dribble and finishing inside. Definitely better than I was expecting.

As I'm watching the game, Barnes is being overshadowed by a bunch of guys and then I look at the boxscore and he finished with 8 points, 5 blocks, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal, +19 in 23 minutes. I think you will see a lot of those statlines in his rookie year.

People want an alpha from the 4th pick, not a guy who likes to blend in. His game currently screams role player but that doesn't mean he can't take it to the next level. You watch Green/Suggs/Cade, you cant say that about them even when they're struggling.

Wish we could give Precious Barnes feel of the game and give some of Precious’s explosiveness to Barnes

If Precious is able to bring his game play tonight, consistently during the regular season, he'll be amazing. He has the ability to get those 50/50 balls and rebound with quickness as well as strength. Really high on that guy!

Are they playing alongside Malachi Iverson Flynn though?

He does weird stuff like that sometimes. It's like he turns into Dennis Rodman on offense at times. Some aspects of his game are so unusual.

The team shocked me. They locked in right away and cut off any Houston runs.

The leader was Ish Wainwright. Just awesome on defense. A lot like PJ Tucker, just can't move the guy on defense and he has quick hands.

Banton shows more of his game. Being light gives him a quickness edge to a Barnes.

Wished Scottie actually had more touches. Guys like Flynn and Achiuwa were selfish most of the game.

I thought that in the playoffs vs Milwaukee this year, he looked too small.

I had the same feeling watching Bam. Bam is 6 feet 8.75 inches barefoot. Precious is 6 feet 7.5 inches, and does not have the strength of Bam. All of a sudden Raptor fans on Twitter and some on this forum, feel he is the answer to the Starting Centre position. I like Precious at the PF spot. He will have trouble as a Starting Centre, guarding bigger and stronger men who will also be 4 inches taller than him, night in and night out.

Despite the shaky shooting and some really bad turnovers, I like how assertive Banton is. I can't help but notice him flying around the court on both ends. Conversely, I barely notice David Johnson when he's on the court.

There aren’t many players in the league that can defend those guys anyway. Most 7 footers can’t guard those guys either.

Idk Green in his prime was a really good finisher at the rim and could at least shoot respectable from 3...

Green also averaged 15PPG one season....If im being srs honest i think Barnes having more potential than Green on offense comes from where exactly? He looks very very Raw and his offense is really not NBA Ready....

If Barnes ever reaches 15PPG a season at this point i would take it....

I see Barnes being a 12PPG 8.5 Reb 4 Assists, 1 steal a game type of player ...He will never crack 20PPG I see Barnes best season being identical to Greens tbh

Anyone think Wainwright can see some spot time as a small ball 5? He's 6'5 240lbs with a 7'1 wingspan.

Steelo Green wrote:People using box score to defend Barnes when most of his points came in the last few minutes when it was just stat padding.

His D was fine (though he got beat a lot off the dribble at times, possibly lazy cause of Summer league/the thigh bugging him).

Any time he did anything to score it was a bad brick, or him not knowing what to do with some decent passes sprinkled here or there.

His O is basically non-existent.
he knows how to drive already. Hes been taking advantage of the touches he gets, especially last game. Hes been getting to the foul line consistently in these games off his dribble drives. You cant do that if your offensive game is non existent. I will agree that his off ball game is bad but he has potential as an on ball creator for sure.

Yeah, I posted during the game that Banton was doing, or trying, things I hoped to see from Barnes.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

Theyre guards. They get to have the ball in their hands unlike Scottie who gets like 5 opportunities per game to initiate the offense. And Cade and Suggs has definitely disappeared in their games from time to time. Even then when scottie got to initiate the offense, more often then not he looked good and was able to drive to the paint consistently

Barnes being taller, and also has shown some post moves, including that fadeaway J yesterday, Draymond can't do that offensively.
