Leafs could be up 4-0 and us leafs fans would still expect the Panthers to make a comeback.

It's crazy how quickly Treliving was able to turn the team around. Dubas was just spinning his wheels in place for a decade. I wasn't sure what to expect from him, but he's been great.

They should take this one tonight and hopefully finish off the series on Tuesday. Gotta close it out

Seems strangely casual being that they are playing the best team in the league.

Last time the leafs had a top 10 defenseman?

Answer: borje salming. 40 years ago.

In any given a year....an nhl team has a 1 in 3 chance of having a top 10 defenseman (assuming no team has two of them).

You know what the chances of losing a 1 in 3 bet 40 times in a row? It's worse than 1 in 10 million lol.

This isn't a perfect synopsis. But the 40 year leaf drought in superstar defenseman is almost impossible to ever happen again.

zero jump at all. they look wiped out. woll has looked sharp but getting no support in front of him

would require some luck to steal this one but it's possible if they keep it close.

Yah. Him and Reilly may have a couple of top 20 or top 15 seasons. Iafrate probably had a top 15 season too. But top 10? Nope.

It's not much different from a baseball team going 40 years without a top 10 starting pitcher. It just doesn't happen. Almost impossible to do.

Matthews had that one shot which was his bread and butter and gets robbed. If this guy can't get going as a captain its gonna screw us down the line if we make it out of this one

Tanev is a soldier though

don't forget Tomas Kaberle and Brian Leetch even if it was for a partial season.

Leafs just aren't generating enough chances.

Bob has a shutout so far....how many great saves has he made?

Leetch was way past his prime. Kaberle is a good point though. Top 20 for sure.

When florida was down by a goal in toronto....leafs were holding on for dear life. When toronto was down by a goal in Florida....the panthers continue to outchance them.

You can get lucky in hockey and win when you are outplayed. But offensive zone time eventually wins out over time.

every bad criticism of the core 4 coming back in a big way tonight. such soft timid play overall, all the dumping without making any effort to chasewasting a playoff game where your goalie stood strong for you.

credit to the panthers who played their strongest game so far, exactly why I thought they'd win this series but it's the same old crap on our end, unfortunately.

The series is tied but it's much worse than that. If you can't generate more than one scoring chance when you are down by one goal for 15 minutes of a third period....that means you are getting dominated in the game-play.

This team always breaks your heart, what do Leafs fans actually get out of this team?
