An important point too. Odds are more likely that Bosh would be traded to the West.

bosh is an UNRESTRICTED free agent. he's gonna dictate where he goes...not us. if he goes to BC and says "I want to go to NY" then we have to go with it. We have no say where he ends up.

But we have say as to whether or not he gets an extra $30mil. I'd say that does not make us as much of a lame duck as you suggest.

Pretty much. All we can do is say

'Alright, we'll work a sign and trade with this team (Team A) so that you get a max contract. If you want to go to Team B, be my guest, but we're not helping you get more money."

If Bosh really wants to go to any one location, we hold no power. It's only if Bosh is happy with a handful of different teams but needs us to get him more money that we will have any influence on where he goes. So unless he says he wants to go to the Lakers, we're probably taking back whatever we can get.

Does it really matter if we trade him to a divisional team? By the time we are a decent team again (if at all) Bosh will be retired.

I wouldn't say we have no power, but I agree that we have less leverage if Bosh has his heart set on one team.

The other part of the equation is the money. How much is the extra year and extra money worth to Chris Bosh?

Another consideration is the financial position of the team he wants to go to. if the team is over the cap than Toronto gains leverage. If the team is under the cap, it really comes down to how much the money means to Bosh.

would we still get a TPE? If we can get Lee starting at 10 mill/year..I'm guessing we'd be giving them around $15 mill extra with that trade. I'd want to squeeze out an unprotected future first rounder out of them too..I don't think Gallinari's ceiling is high enough.

If the rumours are true about NO, we can make a play for CP3/Okafor.

Something like...Jose + Derozan + Weems + TPE + NY unprotected pick + Toronto #13 + 2nd rounder for Okafor + CP3 + Posey (yeah..very unlikely). Three picks, two young prospects and cap space is actually pretty good if they want to rebuild.

Then we could package Reggie + Banks for RIP and sign Mike Miller with the MLE.

Okafor/Bargs/Rasho
Lee/Amir
Gallinari/Posey/minimum defensive FA
RIP/Miller/Beli
CP3/Jarrett Jack

I'm not very well informed with how it all works, so I don't know if those trades are even possible. A team full of long and heavy salaries. I'm assuming BC would want to keep the Italian connection. Defense is probably still a concern..I don't know if Gallinari's D is any good. Posey's basically done..so there isn't even one defensive wing.

Not Lee.. He is a PF who is also a terrible defender.

PF: Lee is the one of the worse overall defender in the NBA.
C: Bargnani - probably worst help defender in the NBA.

Bosh is most likely going to the Knicks since they seem wont be going to get Lebron, Wade , Carmelo , Boozer.

Yeah I see IF anyone it will be Bosh and JJ. But for some reason I can't see Bosh going there.

Since when does Weems bring any kind of defense to the court anyway?

Good lord please dont let this be true, that trade will make us one of the worst teams of all time. 120 ppg against? **** could happen with the lineups we would be running with these scrubs. rather let Bosh walk for nothing then get stuck with giving Lee a contract.

I would love to have Lee and Gallo for Bosh actually. Lee can play down low while Bargnani can play up top a bit. Lee doesn't need plays to be called for him, yet is still a 20/10 kind of guy. He actually tries too. If Bosh wants to go to NY, thats a good deal. Remember we are just trying to get value back. For those who are crying foul, would you rather have Beasley if we trade Bosh to the Heat.. I say no thank you. Gallo is as stud and Colangelo gets to complete his Italian circle. If we can get rid of Turk in the process, I will be dancing on the streets.

I still don't get why Bosh would go to NY. They suck. The article says he could play sidekick, but why not just go to Miami or Chicago. Maybe even OKC. Why would anyone go to NY if they want to win?

The Least lee would take is probably 15mil/season and thats awful. Lee is the Calderon version of big men, dude is the biggest stat whore you can find. His stats have no effect on games at all. Just imagine him bargs and Hedo in the front court.

I've been a Raptors fan since day 1. If this trade goes down I will literally throw up and completely forget about the Raptors.

Not only will it be horrible for us, but we will essentially be giving New York the rights to dominate us for the next decade.

Disgusting in every which way.

I find it funny that some people that dislike Bargs for what he does defensively, would welcome a worse defender in Lee.

Check SS synergy thread, ut confirms what we aleady know about Lee; worst post defender in the league.

Same coach, same pgs, but now want to add Lee?

Lee only rotates when he turns to get a rebound. he doesnt do anything else defensively.

Would the Raps have to keep Lee? Perhaps they could flip him to a team that needs frontline scoring, and get a wing or a draft pick instead

Exactly. They had Lee playing Centre there and hes much too small. We will get the rebounder we need and he can play around the basket. Bargs can play Centre and guard the bigger players. We will score more points as well.

If Bosh wants NY:

Bosh/Turk/Jose

for

TPE and Eddy Curry.

Done and done :)
