I think with jv's aggressiveness size and 10 foul rule he would destroy the summer league.

No wonder Jonas had a tough tournament. Also, why is LTU playing Iceland in friendlies? Should've found a somewhat tougher opponent.

She looks like she just saw Odens special package.

That's his girlfriend... she is a dancer for Asseco Prokom, Motiejunas' Euroleague club. She's probably Polish or somewhere from Eastern/Northern Europe.

I am not saying he is going to suck but hes never played a NBA game and making statements like this?

You def have to discount SL competition but it's the best evidence you have. I mean the Terrence Ross hype (and I'm becoming a believer) is exploding after yesterday's game... so the same should be for D-Mo right? He's a 21 year-old 7 footer that shot 11-13 including 2-2 from 3pts and a long jumper. He had a couple of moves that ended with hook shots and got several easy garbage buckets. Then add 9 rbs.

D-Mo outplayed a bulked-ed Ed Davis. Can't sleep on him.

Totally agree that Jonas would dominate the glass in the SL. Motiejunas is far more polished from an offensive standpoint... D-Mo also led the Euroleague in rebounding! They're different players though. Most importantly both guys have a ton of potential and have shed the "soft" European stereotype.

During Fridays summer league game BC said that Jonas would likely be officially signed to the Raptors by next week. He said the buyout was already negotiated last year and he's just waiting for fiba clearance to officially get him here.

So hopefully he's signed next week like he said and Jonas is officially a raptor.

Starting Lithuania national team center Robertas Javtokas might miss the Olympics. Antanas Kavaliauskas is coming to the Lithuanian NT camp today. So it may be that Jonas will be starting center in Olympic games.

That's some pretty big news. Not great for the Lithuanian NT but great for raptor fans hoping to see JV get as much experience as possible this summer.

Yes. There is a very high chance that Jonas will be the main center of LTU National Team. If this will actually happen Jonas Will Be Forced to avoid fouls as much as possible.

Just read the last few pages. From what I get, it's more rough over there than in the NBA. Why do I get the feeling this is going to get Jonas in a lot of foul trouble?

Most rookie bigs get into foul trouble early and often. Even a huge pansy like Bargs got into foul trouble in his rookie year.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Wait so what happened to Javtokas? If he's not on the team, that's a big disappointment.

Prob has to do with the ankle injury he suffered in the QT. I'm on a LTU basketball site and it looks like that Kavalauskas guy will play C (who?) and at worst emergency they would call on Motiejunas to help the team.

Javtokas is always injured. The guy takes painkillers and usually plays anyways but you can only be so Brett Favre-ess for so long at his age.

i dont think that he can play 30-35 min, maybe 20-25 ir more likely, because foul rate and he is just rookie. I dont know, but my predicition would be 9 points and 6 rebounds for the first year.

He is not raw, he is already a decent player so potentially, he can be something solid right away. But I dont know what to expect from him, when he has one of those sucky days, he will suck against any stiff, but when he is having a good game, he can outplay Gasol bros straight up, no hyperbole.

I remember Songaila got into foul trouble during one of these Q games we recently watched and it reminded me something. That guy, Darius Songaila, was the biggest foul prone I could think of. He used to get into foul problem all the time. Him being undersized, extremely non athletic and a foul prone, it looked like he had no chance. But NBA fixed him good, and he became great, versatile post defender. That gives me hope, if Songaila can be fixed up, Jonas sure can too.

Valanciunas prediction for Rookie year:

25 MPG

8.5 PPG
7.5 RPG
1.0 APG
1.2 BPG

60% FG
75% FT

I'm basing it off Ed Davis' rookie stats, and improving them because I think JV is much more talented.
