Salmons really needed rest to be effective. His game went south in back to back. To me they are simalar with Prince being a bigger wing defender. Both smart players and good leaders for a young team.

Masai's got a good track with picks in the 20s. Kenneth Faried was #22 and Evan Fournier was #20 pick...what wait...we already have the #20th pick and are looking to acquire the #22 ??? Coincidence?

Good

I like both but the last thing we need are more "solid" players

If I were to get Patterson would be gone. 2pat is unfortunately too short to effectively defend the PF position

Ive also never seen someone leave their man more than him

Yes. We will still be under the tax too.

I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

I don't know how I feel about this. Solid trade I guess.

I wonder if MU made a promise to Cappella at #20 before he knew that Ennis may drop to us.....

I don't mind this trade, because Prince is an expiring, so wouldn't that free up cap-space for 2015?

I would package Ross, the 20th pick, and the 22nd pick together for a top 7 pick if the deal goes through and draft a guy like Vonleh or Randle or Gordon. Not sure if other teams would be willing though.

If this goes through and we draft our most likely targets, we could pretty much just resign our own guys and call it an offseason

Lowry Ennis DeColo
DeRozan Vasquez Fields
Ross Prince Novak
Johnson Patterson (#59 or random FA)
Valanciunas Capela Hayes

Vasquez works fine at the 2 and can play Manu Ginobili's role (at a much lower level, of course).

Hmm... maybe the stats say so but I'd much rather have Tayshaun Prince out there than John Salmons.

Raptor fans think Prince is better than Salmons
Grizzlies fans think Salmons is better than Prince

Conclusion: Both benchwarmers who shouldn't see a minute of action on our team

Grizzlies fans think the Salmons cap space is better than Prince. Salmons will be waived ASAP.

You want a Salmons clone starting on our team?

Are we tanking?

In the midsts of the rumors, this one does seem more up Masai's alley.

Update to potential Raps/Grizz trade: Deal would more likely send No. 37 with John Salmons to Memphis for Tayshaun Prince and No. 22 pick

Fine with me. Get this done.

Prince gives you a big wing defender. Capela a shot blocker, Ennis a PG to groom.

Next year you find your starting SF. Let Ross develop at that spot this year.

Lowry / Ennis / DeColo
Derozan / Vasquez / Fields
Ross / Prince / Novak
Amir / Patterson / Hayes
Val / Capela / Bachynski (#59)

Sign me up for that.

Still don't think we're going for a PG at 20 or 22. Capela and Inglis. Masai (and Casey) want the Raptors to be a defensive force.

Not sure why this would entail us not being able to afford Vaz/Pat. We're not that close to the tax. If they get major offers we let them walk either way.
