And the 37 year old shell of Paul Pierce outplays him (not that anybody would be surprised).

Maybe next time Demar will keep his mouth shut and work on something that doesn't involve dribbling the ball off his leg or taking fadeaway contested 2s all game.

Did you not watch last year's playoffs, or any pressure situations for that matter? Derozan is the definition of mentally weak and anti-clutch.

yes and yes… but him being mentally weak have nothing to do with the fact he just isn't that good… its not like he's been a dominant god like player during the regular season who happens to just choke in the playoffs like mcgrady… derozan just isn't that good to begin with but for some reason ppl think he's on the cusp of stardom.

Smh Demar, Pierce took a **** all over you. I'm all for trash talking but your game has to back it up. Pierce did it but Demar laid an egg.

Derozan's doesn't have the BBIQ to beat an old man. He jumped for all of Piere's ball fakes. Reminded me of a rooke T-Ross.

He has been playing great the past month now, so i expected a difference from last year.

We've been playing mediocre teams the past month.

Pierce is a first ballot hall of famer... when you watch him play, he's never worried, always confident in what he does. When have we ever obtained a player like that? Not even Vince.

Truth is this game is exposing the lack of top end talent we have on this team. Square pegs, round holes. I also agree with other posters saying that this coaching staff and team has not prepared adequately for the playoffs. We started Tyler for God's sake. It's obvious the team still lacks an identity.

But that's his downside.

No thats his backside.

Lowry's upside is mental and psychological.

I'm disappointed just like everyone but I'd give him a pass. He missed shots he normally makes but didn't force the issue. Blame Casey and Lowry instead. The game should have won by raps I regulation if not for the 2q brainfart by Casey and Lowry forcing the issue and fouling in the 3rd

He should never have been an all-star. Hes just a very good player. No reason to hate him for being something he never was & never will be

agree with first part bit not when you say he is a very good player.

From beginning DD had be given the freewheel "shot when you please" keys and he is nothing more than a volume shooter *and not a "very good" at all...
It is a joke to call him "franchise player" when the guy does not have the mental makeup to lead a team under pressure. Never had "IT", never will.

Its the Raptors way to try to make mountains out of mole hills. Although we had decent regular season success in the weak Eastern Conference we are soooo far from being a real contender.

Bosh was the lone "franchise player" who could barely win Championships with Lebron & Wade. How the heck was she supposed to win with Jose & Bargs?

DD would make a solid role player or 6th man. But to those that thinks he's elite have bought into the kool-aid again. He's been given way too much freedom for a player of his skill level.

He improves every off season YO! I heard it was defense, 3 point shot, and handles he was working on on his 3rd, 4th, 5th off season respectively.

That's bitch mentality. So when someone does better than you previously you have to curl up and a ball and take whatever they say?

That's exactly how you get no where in life.

Pierce made DeRozan eat his words. Who's the bitch now?

Wait so trying and failing makes you a bitch? I'd rather try and fail than have a loser mentality.. You just proved my point. You guys who call yourself fans than post this **** make me sick

You mean that whole 1 time? Demar wasnt even guarding him for most of the game. Pierce was playing the 4 and was mostly guarded by Amir,PP, and Tyler.

That is correct but the problem is much bigger than that. He is, in this star driven NBA universe, promoted to be a star and showed up our throats, as an all-star, "franchise player" and what not. Any franchise team has serious problem if DD is their franchise player. I am not DD hater, just a realist. I appreciate his work habits and modesty BUT NEVER his basketball skills certainly not on the level Raptors officials and clowns calling the games. I hope Masai sees that and trade him while his value is relatively high. I also blame Casey who gave him carte blanshe to brick all over the place without any consequence. We have enough brickers in this team already.

Why do we have 9 pages about what one guy said and how another guy responded? None of this matters. Players say **** to each other all the time. Why are fans getting in the middle of this? It has nothing to do with you.

I fully agree. And even more with the trade high approach. He should never have been sold to us as the face of the franchise. Standard Toronto sports hype machine ruining or sports teams with no emphasis on building a championship team.

I agree with you somewhat. By your statement, if DD isn't a star, which is true at this point of his career why does he receive all this hate? He has to take those extra shots etc, as he is the one creating things out there, he has been given the green light. He is on a 9 million dollar contract, one of our best players on the team as well as one of the best shooting guards in the game. Think about it as a gm perspective, why move him? To state the team is better without him is not true, if you believe he is not the star, then you know what needs to be done. I am just elaborating on your key points, guys saying trade him makes no logical sense. If I was Masai, I would see what his value is (just like all the other players on the team) but not make a trade unless it improves our team.
