I give them coin toss and and not a penny more. That's what mu should say, then throw in Bebe to get it done.
Definitely no Patterson.
Actually JJ plus Ross makes sense here. They get a guy who can play PF back, DC doesn't even play JJ, and we get best player.
Don't really want to give up any picks because any 4 of our firsts could be better than we anticipate.

meh. I wouldn't be too worried about dealing the Clippers' first. It's more useful as a trade asset anyways at it is lotto protected until 2017 where if it has not yet been conveyed, it turns into two seconds. If there's a guy you like and he costs a first round pick, this is the first pick you look to deal.
That said, I just had a look at Morris and the advanced stats favor Terrence Jones a lot more than they do Morris. I suppose if there are no other options left, we can settle for Morris but he wouldn't be my first choice.
this was posted in the trade thread and I really like it
To Houston: Ryan Anderson
To New Orleans: Terrence Ross, Pap, 2nd round pick (from Toronto)
To Toronto: Terrence Jones.
Pelicans dump Anderson and get a prospect, creating some immediate and future capspace after signing Davis, Asik and Ajinca to big deals this summer. Houston gets a stretch 4 on a reasonable deal to play beside Howard. Toronto cashes in on Ross and turns him into Jones who will come in a be our starting PF
Best part about this deal is we don't have to move any first round picks. If we throw in Bebe or Bruno to either one of these teams, it'll give us enough money to throw the remainder of our capspace at Gerald Green and see if he bites.

Get on it Masai!
Lowry
Derozan
Carroll
T.Jones
Valancuinas
Only Person that can't shoot the 3 obviously is JV, with regards to Demar's struggles, but improving 3 ball.
Pretty dope lineup.

Terrence Jones or Markieff. With Morris you get more offense and a more dangerous 3 pt shooter. Defense isn't so great, but he averages more steals and is a better passer.
Jones is a better defender, gets you blks, and won't get technical fouls all the time.
I'm slightly leaning towards Jones. But I'd be more than happy with either.

I'd be ok with Markieff, but give me Terrence every day of the week.
Younger, better athlete, much better defensively, superior rebounder, and is arguably the better 3pt shooter. Per 36 Markieff attempts 2.5 and hits 31.8%. Terrence attempts 1.5 and hits 35.1%.
He's a pipe dream but. As it stands, I see the chances of us landing him slim and none. If Houston don't re-sign Josh Smith, it all becomes a moot point.

Is Terrence Jones an RFA or something? He won't come cheap either way but I'd take Kief as well.

He's a RFA next off-season, I believe.

I love that you are berating people for having an opinion. While you're basically just giving your own opinion on the matter. This is a fan forum, where people voice their opinions on the team. Good and bad. And let's be honest, unless you have some kind of inside source to what is going on in the Raptor FO, then you know as much as anyone else on this board.
If you are basing it on reports, then you must be just going on reports that go along with what you think/want to think. Because there were just as many reports floating around that Casey's job was not safe and/or that this season is a make or break year for him. Just because he's still here today, doesn't mean that Masai/FO think Casey was guilt free.
Were there issues with the roster? Yes. Everyone saw/knew that. Were there issues with coaching? Yes, I think so. Was it all Casey's fault? No. Was he part of the issue? Yes. He just has one more year left on his contract. If things don't go well to start the season, then he'll be fired. If things go well, then you judge him based on what happens in the playoffs. Keeping him was the safe bet. Especially with how much roster movement there has been.
Also, let's not act like this roster is a EC championship team or anything. As it is now, this roster has just as many questions as last years team - if not more. We have gotten much younger and we've added some interesting talent, but we really haven't pushed ourselves into the upper-tier of teams. We still lack franchise talent. We also won't have the luxury of being basically guaranteed a top-seed next season.
I'm more curious to see what happens if this team fails to start off strong.
Not all opinions are equal, and frankly everything I know from my inside sources has already been stated and restated in public thus far. I told you Casey was not the problem, and I also mentioned that Masai has no problems moving Lowry if the right deal comes to fruition (check my post history... I made the point way before the media jumped on it). Once you get burnt by a player like that, you don't want to risk a re-occurrence, what this means is once Lowry starts to play well, he will most likely get moved at the deadline for talent the management can have more faith in. This is the big leagues.
Masai is more than happy with what Casey was able to achieve in the regular season. Casey's job was always safe, the idea that it was in jeopardy originated from fans that had a very poor and biased opinion of the coach. What is worse is that the interviews from the inside from both players and management stated this fact over and over again. Yet for some reason personal hate made it impossible for fans to digest the reality of the message. You can easily see who showed up for the playoffs and who did not.
I continuously have to sift through posts from younger fans that have no appreciation or understanding of what a coach in the NBA is responsible for and what he is not. What is sadder, is that a lot of our media also lack an understanding about basketball and frankly some of the stories are just click bait because its easier to pander to the masses than it is to the few experts. Truth is not always popular and controversy sells papers.
Take for instance the idea that Casey does not play young players, how ridiculous is that premise? Yet this opinion is posted over and over again. Casey has consistently played our young players, and in my opinion, played them TOO much. I don't want to see another Andrea Bargnani situation where a player is just given minutes and to this day does not have the hunger for the game. You would hope this market would have learned by now.
I am sorry if you think that James Johnson is a starter in this league (and I don't mean you specifically, but many do). No one in the NBA thinks that, but unfortunately on this forum filed with young teens (some whom have a man crush on JJ and mma skills) that sentiment is over represented. Once these young fans do not get their misinformed opinion confirmed, the result is that Casey must be a terrible coach... etc...
The reality is that the analysis on this forum is horrible, and finding good posts means sorting through a sewer that often mixes imagination for reality. Most of the posters post with an alias, and when their crappy analysis is pointed out they often re-incarnate under a different alias and continue to bomb this forum with inferior low IQ analysis.
There used to be as poster that scouted Yi Jianlian and would write page upon page of how Yi was going to be a better NBA'er than Chris Bosh. I kid you not. He was a popular poster on this forum one of those guys that would overstate his qualifications and analytical ability. Where is he? Probably posting under a new alias, this time how James Johnson is a starter in this league... etc...
So to those of you who live and die by this forum, history has not been kind to the "realgm experts". The side bar can call you coach, assistant GM, or full GM because you have thousands of posts on this forum, but don't believe it... don't be stupid, there is very little good sound thought on here and unfortunately a lot of opinion from fans that have man crushes on players and do not understand that they are way out of their depth when analyzing Coaching, Management and players.
Again, history has not been kind to the "supposed" experts on this forum. So if you already understand that opinions are a dime a dozen around here, and polls do not reflect reality, just flawed group opinion, that is awesome.... unfortunately, there are many fans that do not seem to understand that this is just a social media site. They think that mass consensus on here counts for something, it does not.
The best moves, are never posted to realgm.

Nice rant, you make a solid point that we shouldn't listen to young people's opinions.
Can I ask, do you think Terrence Ross is a starter in this league? Would you agree that he is being spoon fed minutes, despite not having a "hunger for the game?". Quite the contradiction, considering Casey was the worst offender in regards to spoon feeding Bargniani his minutes.

The only one spoon feeding Andrea Bargnani minutes was Bryan Colagelo, who hired Casey. Casey's job security depended on doing what the GM required. Once Masai jumped in, Andrea was jettisoned and Casey was allowed to be freer with his system. This is when our team showed incredible improvement and why the rebuild did not go full steam ahead. Bryan Colangelo had a tantrum and no longer wanted his advisory role, kind of like the kid that takes the ball home when his knee gets scrapped.
Bryan Colangelo is a great Euroleague GM and that is where he should be seeking employment. (in the NBA we play defense)
Yes, I like Ross, he actually has NBA talent. Will he put it all together, he may he may not. Certainly a much more effective player than James Johnson. Some things you just can't teach. What Ross has, you can''t teach.
I have no problem with Ross on the floor, I actually felt his defense and positioning improved substantially towards the end of the year. Ross is also a great player off the ball, his instinct trumps anyone we had at the position.
I just wish he did not read this forum, because most of you are clueless and he seems to respect your opinions more than I do.

The only thing that brought this team success was LOWRY playing out of his mind in 2014. When Lowry started to blow it, so did the team as a whole. Now we want trade him to build for our coach, who's only success EVER came off the shoulders of Lowry's outstanding play.
Terrence Ross was absolutely not effective as a starter, and hardly had the impact that JJ had when given minutes. This is fact, not made up group think from a banding gang of teenagers on a forum. Besides, if Ross doesnt have the mental make up to handle criticism from a bunch of kids on an internet forum for his lack of effort and terrible play, he needs to be gone ASAP.
