Pau Gasol will almost certainly opt out of his player option with the Bulls if he hasn't already.

If bulls wanted 5 for Butler it would be a done deal. Min offered them that. Chicago wants 5 plus plus or wiggins plus plus. Actually asked for wiggins and 5.

Yeah possibly. The bulls may also want to see who else is on board before trading for the pick.

I am living in Austria now so I can kind of explain it.

Jakob Poeltl

Jakob - The J is pronounced like a Y in German, so like the posted above said Yak-ob, something like that.

Poeltl - This is where it gets interesting. In German there are regular vowels and also "umlaut" vowels a>ä, o>ö, u>ü, au>äu.

So Poeltl's name is actually Pöltl, but since the English alphabet doesnt have this o, it is replaced by an oe, etc. The ltl part is common in German and it is just pronounced as it is spelled. Usually in German, everything is pronounced as it is written.

ae = instead of a like car its ae like care
oe = instead of o like octopus its more like the French word petite ( the pe)

The tongue should be placed on the bottom of your mouth towards your teeth. Thats the best I can do for now in terms of explanation. If we draft him, I will revisit :).

The guys in the top 8 that I see falling to 9 are either Brown/Chriss/Bender... one of them... if I had to choose, I think it'll be Jaylen Brown because of reports from GM's saying he rubbed them the wrong way and seeming arrogant. I think he's a very intellectual player that has a strong desire to be great... he has the same kind of mentality as DeRozan, but I think he has the shooting fundamentals to become a good 3 point shooter sooner rather than later. I'd love to have him here and let him grow with a winning team... he says he wants to be like T-Mac... If he can get anywhere close to T-Mac, we're looking at an all-star.

We picked DeRozan at 9, as well as McGrady... the cards might fall into place for Brown.

If Chriss or Bender fall to 9, it's a no brainer to me. We need a PF and both of those guys have potential to grow into that role. It might not help us immediately, but with our 905 team, they could come in and make an impact off the bench with growth.

I'm hoping one of these scenarios play out, but if it doesn't I think Masai is going to look seriously at one of the deals that he said he's been discussing with other teams. I also think Masai really likes Sabonis, and I can see why. He's ready to help right now with his hustle, heart, and rebounding. He has nice potential with his jumper and passing ability... I would be more than happy with him to. I think he's better than Tristan Thompson right now. He offers a lot more, and he has a lot more game to provide and grow with.

I can't wait to see what unfolds tomorrow. There's so many different scenarios that can happen - it's a pivotal draft for us as a top-4 team with a chance to get better.

So I was reading some kings forums to take pleasure in thier misery. Vivek is really messing up that franchise. In an attempt to buy the team and not let Seattle get the team he agreed to not take revenue sharing from the league. Teams like bucks/Charlotte get 20$+ mil and he turned that down and with the new tv deal revenue sharing is gonna go up a lot. None to the kings though.

We need a player with decent potential who can defend. Just look at how this playoffs has gone. Just being high iq isn't enough if you can't move your feet fast enough or make gamechanging plays.

It is usually skills that translate... Rebounding, Shooting, etc.

For arguements sake I'd say Point guard...

Damn, it's draft day.

I wouldn't be mad at the pick, but I hope we don't pick Poeltl. I like his mobility for a 7fter. However he has a low center of gravity, that does not bode well for a low post scorer, which he primarily is. Look what happened when he went up against a player with a lower center of gravity in Sabonis, got shut down. I've never seen him ever taken a jumper, and his face up skills aren't that good. The way I see it, if you're drafting him you're drafting him for his athleticism for a big man, because unless his develops a ton of lower bulk overnight, his post skills won't translate.

Just to defend Poetl's honour a bit. Apparently Poetl rolled his ankle early in the game when he went up against Sabonis. There are a couple clips where Poetl just stands still as Sabonis works him in the post, so I think this is legit. Second, Poetl outplayed and shut down Jahlil Okafor as a freshman, which is more meaningful to me then having a bad game against Sabonis. If we can pick and choose one game to represent a player, I'll gladly take the Duke game instead.

Also, someone from the previous thread mentioned the Glen Davis - LaMarcus Aldridge game from 2006 (while both players were still in college):

Player 1 was 2-14 (4 points), had 10 rebounds, 5 blocks and 2 assists.
Player 2 was 11-14 (26 points), had 9 rebounds, 2 blocks and 1 assist.

Poetl projects better than half of the so-called top 8. It means goodbye Biz and likely goodbye Bebe which is kind of tough. Bill Walton says the learning will be steep but Poetl has what it takes to succeed. Calls him a "champion".

Here is my preference to whom we draft. I know several names will be gone by then but who knows hopefully one drops.

1. Bender
2. Brown
3. Chriss
4. Murray
5. Skal
6. Davis
7. Korkmaz
8. Luwawu
9. Sabonis
10. Ellenson

Didn't include Dunn or Hield as if one of them falls I'd prefer to trade them instead. Nor did I include Simmons or Ingram as they are going 1-2.

As for 27 I'm good with a few players

Maker
Zicic
Zubac
Hernangomez
Valentine (if medical is good)
Prince
Johnson

He is by all accounts a capable defender and able to switch quickly on guards. The fact that he brings post defence, rebounding and a low post game with some developing shooting means he is more well rounded than JV coming out of college. The only thing that hinders this pick is the league moving away from traditional 5's.

The Raps will have a scenario for drops and if no drops they will have one guy already selected. The 27 will be all over the place as nobody has any idea how that shuffle plays out.

You pretty much :) have to go.
1. Drop
2. Poetl
3. Sabonis

At 27

??? Someone super athletic, can create offence and badly overlooked.
