Serious question that I don't feel like starting a thread for (yet):

Aside from the Heatles and LeBron's Cavs, who is the second-best Eastern conference team of this decade? And where do the Raps rank in that list? IMO depending on how this year goes, I'd say we have a chance to cement ourselves as 2nd best.

Currently, my ranking goes like this.

1. LeBron's teams
2. Indiana Pacers (2012-2014)
3. Pierce-KG-Ray Celtics (2010-2013)
4. Atlanta Hawks (2010-2017) - they only made one ECF, but they were remarkably consistent and they did win 60 at a point
5. We The North era Raptors (2014-present)

I used to think this way until this absolute dime of a chick started flirting with me at work and giving me the eyes from across the room. In the end I didn’t have the balls to ask her out :banghead:

Hmm, I generally try to avoid eye contact with extremely attractive women.

Better than me, I barely make eye contact with anyone. I find I get distracted when I make prolonged eye contact, and I focus on that instead of the actual conversation.

They were praising us on ESPN at halftime, then rode LeBron's cock in the second half. But I was honestly surprised by their knowledge of the Raptors, usually for teams like us their main talking point would be praising the leading scorer on the team, but they gave a ton of recognition to both Fred and Siakam, and also kept citing last years D-League championship series.

I considered them, but tbh the Bulls were only a legitimate threat for one year, and that was 2011. They made one ECF and got handled by Miami in a swift 5-gamer. The next year Rose tore his knee for the first time and they weren't the same again, and they never posed a threat at any point. They've been beaten by LeBron four times since 2010, and 3 of those 4 series were in 5 games.

Pacers and KG-Pierce-Ray Celtics are IMO the two teams that posed the biggest threat to LeBron and actually put him in the danger zone, Pacers going a tough 6 games the first year and going up 3-2 before losing in 7. Boston made an NBA Finals and an ECF and also went up 3-2 on Bron. Those prime Pacers would've beaten anybody else had the Heatles not existed, then Paul George had his knee issues and has turned into a volume chucker on offense, and Roy Hibbert had his talent stolen by the Monstars. IMO they always were the one team seriously capable of beating LeBron in the East.

Oh...yeah I meant more so on all those talking head shows like First Take, Undisputed, Cowherd etc etc.

All I usually see with the exception of Max Kellerman (who will be ridiculed by Stephen A tomorrow) is us being dismissed by the vast majority of American media and even the different TNT segments etc it's always "gotta prove it in the Playoffs" as if that were only true of our franchise n not every other team not named GSW/CLE but whatever.

Like Casey referenced I just think it's such a bs narrative when NO ONE out East has been able to beat the 2nd best player of all time n even THE best team in the league arguably NEEDED Durant to beat him given he won before they got him n could have repeated had he had Kyrie & Love the first time but that's none of our business...

That's why i'm happy now and as I stated I hate getting praised by fake bandwagoner's. I don't care about not winning against the cavs but we definitely can not lose to the saltics because we're never hear the end of it :banghead:

Return to Toronto Raptors
