I see a lot of people requesting that we get Whiteside?
I have a question for all of you who do. Do you even watch basketball? And if you do, do you really understand what you're watching?

Relax, They got this. I remember Masai even said at his end of year presser that they may have re-evaluate the roster because of the way the game is being played now. Remember both these guys were forced off the floor against the Celtics. That’s why I actually think Gasol is more important than Ibaka. OG can replace Serge but not in matchups where Marc is needed like Jokic or Embiid. Stanley Johnson, gulp, might even be an option at the 5 in a RHJ type role.
With all due respect, SIr...Stanley Johnson at the 5 is not at all providing any comfort nor confidence.![]()

I can understand that but I bet you he’d be passable because that is only actual role where he has a possible advantage over his matchup.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

I have no clue what Masai and Bobby have planned.
I’m thinking something/someone became a target yesterday and they let Serge go.
Let’s be honest, if they really wanted serge back they could’ve easily have found a way.
Someone became available and the target changed. Maybe it’s a trade ? Powel ? TDavis ?

That is a terrifying proposition.

Yeah seriously, in real life, he is an actual disaster, save for a few wild blocks here and there. Defensively, he is actually not very good. Defending one on one he his great, when when it comes to team defense...woof.
Offensively, he is a clog.
Great for racking up stats on yahoo! fantasy sports. I surmise a lot of people are basing their requests on THAT,

Yeah.
Plus, look at Portland when Whiteside had the 5 spot all to himself when Nurkic was injured. Portland was pisspoor and nowhere near the playoofs. Could not defend a nosebleed.
Once Nurkic came back, Whiteside's minutes tanked, Portland was much better defensively, and they snuck into the playoffs.
Also a huge reason why Riley and the Heat stopped playing him.

Aldridge for Norm, Stanley and McCaw
Dieng and a 2nd for Norm and Stanley
Tony Bradley for Stanley or McCaw
All are expirings.

Re: So.... what do we do about the frontcourt now?
Ibaka was a useful scorer but I expect OG and Boucher to replace any numbers that were missed.
But his ability to knockdown shots from the midrange will be missed. Don't know where you can patch that.

OKC isn't taking Lowry (they only want 1st round picks) and I wouldn't send him off for Horford anyway.

That’s why a trade for Aldridge who is expiring might make sense. Plus he started to hit some 3 last season too.

Willie cauley stein may have some untapped potential... cousins low risk high reward type move... baynes would just be solid; wouldn't move needle much tho....heart wants Biz but also wouldn't move needle.

Baynes 3 point shooting fits our team system. We need 5 shooters on the floor and need to take 3s. The center position is open to 3s more than any other position. Baynes is a starter for this reason. The other guys you mentioned are bench players. Cousins is done.

Aron Baynes is the guy I thought we'd sign. He's still available as of now
Our big man rotation is way too thin. It's basically Siakam all alone down low and we're going to get torched inside.

I've had my eye on Dieng for a while. The Raptors' advantage the last two years has been centres who can shoot the 3. Everyone out there. Dieng can actually do that. And Memphis have plenty of young bigs they're trying to develop, including JV of course. So Dieng should be cheap, but it would cost us Norm just because of the huge (17 mill) salary. That's not ideal. I wonder if Masai can get a draft pick coming back too? But beggars can't be choosers.
Aldridge doesn't feel right. I don't see him fitting into our offence.

Im on the Aaron Baynes train tbh. Would he be willing to take a 1 yr deal?
If Lowry can make Bismack look good....imagine Baynes

Re: So.... what do we do about the frontcourt now?
WCS fits what the Raps like to do as well. He's great in transition, he can guard in space and he's switchable. A Gasol+WCS combo gives you a little of everything.
