real win for OKC if you believed in Okpala when Lowry to Heat was happening lol

Could see Dragic for Okpala and a 2nd. Would help OKC reach the salary floor.

Okpala makes even less than NAW, would need to add like 17 mill in salaries

Problem is that they're already shed cap in the Powell/Roco/CJ moves.

I don't think there's a limit to how much they want to shed. They want to rip it down and rebuild.

They have problems attracting FA's. There has to be a balance between cap space and how much you can realistically make use of. I think Hart is a piece they want to hold on to. They might move Winslow or Bledsoe though. Might be something in there, both good defenders.

Pacers continue rebuild, deal Turner to Toronto
Toronto Raptors receive: Myles Turner, Buddy Hield

Indiana Pacers receive: Goran Dragic, Chris Boucher, Khem Birch, Malachi Flynn, 2022 first-round pick, 2024 first-round pick

Note: This deal would need to be split into two separate transactions due to the Pacers recently acquiring Hield via trade.

The Raptors have surprised with how well they've played in what was expected to be a rebuilding season after moving on from face of the franchise Kyle Lowry. They currently find themselves only two games out of first place in a division that is wide open with the complicated situations in Brooklyn and Philadelphia.

The addition of Hield would bolser the Raptors' perimeter game with one of the best 3-point-shooting wings in the league, further stretching the floor for their talented forwards to operate while slotting him next to Fred VanVleet and Gary Trent Jr.

And Turner, if he returns healthy from the stress reaction in his foot, would fill the big man role the Raptors had previously split among three players. Turner would provide optimal shot-blocking, rim protection and 3-point shooting to finish one of the more dynamic frontcourts in the NBA next to Pascal Siakam, OG Anunoby and rookie Scottie Barnes. This deal would push the Raptors into the luxury tax, but the resulting lineup would be strong at both ends of the court.

The Pacers already appeared poised for a rebuild, with a team full of veterans that was all but fixed at the 13th spot in the Eastern Conference, eight games out of the play-in game. They started that rebuild by dealing both of their leading scorers in separate trades, with Sabonis headed to the Kings and LeVert to the Cavaliers.

The proposed deal gives Indiana two expiring deals and two first-round picks to help them jump-start the rebuilding process this offseason. Boucher is also, in many ways, a developing version of the Turner template as a shot-blocker who likes to shoot 3s. This deal would give the Pacers the chance to try him out, as well as Birch and Flynn, to see if any might be worth retaining as part of their future.

Also I hope the rumor about the Raptors being interested in PJ Washington is true.

I hope we can land Reddish and/or Washington. Two young assets that contribute immediately and still have a ton of untapped potential that the Raptors coaching staff can maximize.

We already have a NAW, Flynn.
They don't have to match due to OKC being under the cap

My dream now is they shed 60 million, the sixers trade for Harden, Harden loses and goes to play with Dame.

Just realized that we play the Rockets tomorrow. Might as well trade for Gordon now to have him play against his former team lol.

I remember a Blazer fan pointing out that Portland has the highest number of strip bars per capita.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Even without taking on Turner and Hield there are already luxury tax concerns with Fred and Gary being unrestricted free agents in 2023, the Raptors just don't have the future flexibility to take on this type of salary if they want to keep them, to say nothing of keeping Turner as well.

I actually applauded the Knicks move to get Reddish (and I absolutely hate those arrogant mf'ers).... the Knicks could pair him back with RJ, then between the two of them, they may actually have a compelling case to Zion to reunite the whole crew on the biggest stage in a couple of years.

Having said that, Knicks trading him right away would be typical NY,... I hope its for Westbrook, lol!!!

True - but OKC may not be in the mood to dish out the Dragic buyout $$ for just a 2nd.

This would be near ideal imo.

Couple of young guys with a bunch of untapped potential that is in line with the timeline and could likely very easily be flipped at a later date once we've built them up or obviously retained as they may become very important pieces of the rotation. But I've been saying since reading that we've inquired about him PJ Washington is the one I'd mainly want at this point in relation to his likely cost.

Lol. Harden would have dusted the title hopes of Paul, Westbrook, Irving, Durant, Embiid, Dwight Howard let alone Morey times over. Dame might say " Don't make me your latest victim"

Eric Gordon is an interesting thought in a vacuum, but that contract is a no for me. Unless Houston significantly sweetened the pot, I don’t see him as a target

I was literally thinking about Cam Reddish this morning as a target lol. If he's not gonna get any playing time under thibs, than why not trade our 1st + Dragic for Reddish + asset.

Reddish is young enough to be considered a legit prospect and he would get heavy minutes playing from our bench. Reddish is someone I would trade the n1st for considering he would be part of our core moving forward

Return to Toronto Raptors
