Masai knows best. We aren't giving up both OG and Trent for Gobert. Ainge would be licking his chops on that

Ainge already caught lying that the Hawks offered Hunter. He's one of two untouchables on their team. He'll end up in Charlotte for Hayward, Bouknight and a protected first that conveys to 2 2nds or something like that.

Ainge is usually patient and he's not going to get what he wants this off-season. His ask will come down over time. I expect Gobert trade rumours to last for another year.

No way, if that’s the package going out to Utah, then we better expect Mitchell instead of Gobert lol

I don't care how good he is defensively if he can't shoot. Last season, 93% of his FGA came from inside 5 ft and of those 94% were in the restricted area.

Gobert might help your record in the regular season but he's a liability in the playoffs.

MU is playing GM's against one another.

They all want OG so the Raod being "in" on guys where OG would be in the deal, gets other GM's FOMO. I will trust MU and what he does. How often does he lose deals? Not often.

Oh man, I forgot for a minute that Ainge is in charge in Utah. Yeah, Rudy is not going to be traded anytime soon, he'll just keep asking for a fortune and end up running it back.

Reading in the headlines that Myles Turner is back on the market, and Pacers are looking for futures/picks. I think that's our true target and Gobert at best a smokescreen.

Haha me too. Skip the Gobert news, Ainge will not trade him till he fleeces someone. And that is unlikely as people learned Ainge by now.

I’d rather have both OG +Trent over Gobert especially in the playoffs

Vs Philly (Embiid) Gobert is on the floor.

Vs Boston (Williams) Gobert is on the floor.

Vs Cavs (Allen) Gobert is on the floor.

Vs Heat (bam) Gobert is on the floor.

Bucks could go small with Giannis and get him off the floor.

Nets could go small and get him off the floor.

I think the Gobert can’t play in the Playoffs is not really a thing.

Of those 4 guys, really only Embiid takes advantage of his size. You can get away with a small C against the other 3.

Yes. But if you had the elite Gobert rim protection it wouldn’t be played off the floor in the playoffs as so many claim would happen.

Agreed, if Turner is back on the market I would much rather Masai pursues a Trent for Turner swap than giving up 2 core players to add Gobert/Ayton at higher salaries. They are both on expiring deals although Turner is extension eligible. If not a straight up swap maybe the Raptors add a future FRP.
Tre Mann should have been a Top 10 Pick in the 2021 Draft

I’m kidding but seriously:
Scottie, OG, precious, pascal and Rudy lol.

Fred, Malachi, khem and Svi for Rudy works.
Nobody would ever score on us again. Plus we keep our shooting with OG and have precious who greatly improved in that area. Plus Scottie getting better. Pascal can shoot a bit. But bro this would be the best defensive team in nba history lmao

What will Utah do with Conley, VanVleet and Mitchell? That is a lot of money tied up in 3 smallish guards.

The Toronto Raptors have emerged as the favorite to land Rudy Gobert via trade at even money (+100) according to MyBookie.ag.

This is an interesting development as the sports gambling site says it’s more likely that Gobert will play for the Raptors next year than he will with the Utah Jazz.

Other possible suitors listed are the Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets, Atlanta Hawks, Golden State Warriors, Charlotte Hornets, and Los Angeles Lakers.

https://www.si.com/nba/jazz/news/rudy-gobert-trade-rumor-raptors-odds

I think the Gobert for Anunoby+Trent deal should work but I would push to add Birch and get NAW in return. People might not like giving up such great young assets, but Gobert is a DPOY so there always comes a cost to a transaction like this. Honestly, the Jazz would not have had their success without Rudy anchoring the team defense (they had a top tend defense playing Conley, Mitchell, Clarkson, Bogdanovic on court). Imagine what it would be like with higher end defensive players.

Anunoby projects as a 20 PPG scorer next year and will be great to pair with Donovon Mitchell. They start their rebuild.

Gobert accelerates Toronto's contender timeline with a supersized Gobert, Achuiwa/Boucher, Siakam, Barnes, FVV line-up. Could still get a shooter in FA or draft if needed.

I imagine that line is going to move very quickly...money definitely will be going in on the "field" side.

I think you are right. It just was weird when any betting site makes such a 50-50 claim and publicizes it. SI quoting it also made it seem even more legit. Ever since the Kawhi rumor to Toronto you cannot ignore the gambling sites. They generally know what they are doing and avoid risk.
