This feels like a guy we should be looking to acquire.

the problem is they are looking for an OG type of player AND a FRP.

Raptors want Hyland + salary filler AND a FRP

I heard (think it was Stein) they're looking for a defensive minded forward & possibly a 1st for Hyland.

You know who plays defense. Boucher!

Lol. But it’s pretty telling that a championship contender does not want to hang onto a player on a rookie contract. There are probably some red flags we are not aware of.

Masai saying all the right things right now .. I wouldnt get too worked up on it

If Raps admit they want to tank / move peices, teams will just low ball.

You'll always pay more when something isn't available. Then when you somehow get the product, you think you won and beat your competitors for it .. meanwhile the receiver got a haul and did their job.

he was doing pretty well a couple of years ago..wonder if he petered out...def worth it if the price is low

This is his 2nd year. Just a bucket getter that I think could be the next Tyrese Maxey type of player.

He's more of a scoring guard, the Raptors are in good position to make the playoffs or at least the playin as the schedule gets easier in Feb. We could trade our 1st for Bones. Win win trade.

It's cause they also have Bruce Brown who can cover the backup guard duties, and have other holes to fill.

This is why fans cheer for loses. How do you still not know what you have in your team? There’s enough sample size here.

Deciding the future of your franchise based on a handful of games before the trade deadline is wild to me.

The team is not a contender and the roster construction is terrible.

I think the offers not wins or loses on this trip will decide if deals get done. Winning is bad for the tank but good for offers. Windhorst made it look like we weren’t listening to offers until after the trip. We are. It would be impossible otherwise. They are taking offers and then saying we’ll get back to you after the trip.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Our team was fully healthy last week, and played depleted Bucks, Wolves, and Celtcs, and Knicks and could only muster win against the Knicks. What more is there to evaluate? Our FO are done evaluating - they just stalling for trade negotiations

I do think we are ready to deal if we have a crappy road trip. Nurse mentioned this was going to be business like. The long film session , extra effort just shows a lot is at stake. He knows whats going on.

I think we are ready to make one deal minimum if we have a crappy trip. One of the four is traded, most likely FVV or Trent but if the offers are not to their liking they might move Thad, Boucher, Birch, Porter in some combination and try to free up salary cap to gain flexibility. Masai is not afraid of free agency and working deals with bird rights like he did with Kyle.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

FO doing the right thing fielding offers to see what his value is. His value will diminish once he signs a much higher contract.

Would be sad though if FO trades OG instead of Fred.

It takes two to dance. who will offer these exorbitant contracts..

but if the effort we saw against Sac is result from above, it means this team wants to play together.

I dont know what this means.

The team could all be family but if the results aren't there, we aren't going anywhere. At the very least one of Trent/FVV/OG are gone .. but it could be 2/3 if we continue to suck and have a crappy road trip.

Regardless of what direction Masai prefers to go in - which I'm almost positive he knows already - he has everyone around the league in the palm of his hand right now. His decision not to blink when playing chicken last deadline looks even better today. Other teams know he won't budge on their trash offers. Gonna be a fun couple of weeks

Woj said nothing new, and he only knows what other teams told him, not Raps. He mentioned OG as the player drawing most outside interest, not that he's the only Rap who might get traded.

Not sure how he didn't blink a year ago

I think he means Masai earned some negotiation credit by not selling Kyle Lowry cheap (not blinking), which will pay off at this deadline when he attempts to trade FVV and GTJ. However, I don't think it matters that much, maybe get a 10% boost in return.

A bigger factor in us getting more offers this time is the fact that both FVV and GTJ have easily tradable contracts at 22M and 18M, compared to Lowry's 30M which was harder to match salaries with.

Not sure why we’re praising Masai’s inaction. Not trading Kyle netted us Precious… woopdy foo.

He also let Gasol and Ibaka leave for nothing.

He did nothing last summer to get us a starting C.

Seems like he’s been sleeping at the wheel if anything.
