So we are gonna need a pg that can create so that Walter and dick can get some easy shots off the bench.

why was hakeem called "the dream"??"

Because it rhymes with 'Olajuwon'.

The comp I’m kinda thinking here is Tim hardaway with good defence? Not saying that’s his ceiling but more or less a realistic comp. That would be a good player, in my opinion.

Also shot 34% from 3 and nearly 80% FT on decent volume with only 1 college season. He's going to keep getting better.

The same people who are complaining about the pick are the same people who wanted Keyonte George after the draft when he posted splits of 37/33/79 in college.

Walter is a steal.

what about the ones who didn't like Keyonte

not a Ja'Kobe fan, but also not complaining about the pick. There was no obvious clear cut choice.

That wingspan is Raptory.

Hand size?
His fav player is klaw
8.75.

Plus size overall for a guard.

Yeah clear shift of "we can teach guys to shoot" to "oh wait no we can't"

BPA type pick. Sucks Edey was taken that high.

I am sure he is a good kid and hard worker but where does he play? and does Dick start now?

How can you not like the fit? You were expecting a starter at 19???

If anything it might signal that we aren't going to spend a lot of money to bring GT Jr back. I doubt Dick's minutes affected by this at all.

GTJ could be coming back and starting at the 2

GTJ is not coming back

THJ doesn't get to the rim like this kid projects to. Also if THJ had defense he's a different player lol

usually SG's that late in the first round are career role players + 3&D players at best and are pretty boring. Walter is interesting prospect - has that swag for a wing and dynamic ability that has potential to be more. Reminds me a bit like the Cam Whitmore slide last year but not as surprising.

It's something we can use right now.

He reminds me a bit of KCP.

He looks like a good fit with this team.

He was the biggest upside guy of the guys left alongside Missi.

Also, he's clearly a GTJ replacement. Not sure why everyone keeps saying he doesn't fit. RJ isn't our long term SG.

The pros:

-size, 6'10 wingspan, close to 200lbs
- got to the line 5+ times a game
- 79% FT shooter
- took a lot of 3s, over 6 a game (shot 34%)
- projects as an above average defender

The cons:

- inefficient player overall, and it's tough for these type of guys to improve dramatically at the NBA level.

His BPM was decent for a freshman at close to 6. At 19, if he can just get a rotation guard, that's a win.

You're going to be pleasantly surprised with the pick.

I honestly had him in my top 5.

He has potential to be a steal. Kid was not a spot up shooter, he's a movement shooter.

I'll do a write up on him soon, but I've seen the kid play roughly 10 times, and I'm escatic. If you want a guy who can be a 20ppg scorer and hit 3's, you can't get better than this kid.
