I swear it feels like people learned nothing when we won a title. The NBA is about matchups so you need to be able to play multiple ways to win.

Raptors had to play Gasol/Ibaka/Siakam/Kawhi/Lowry to beat Philly. We needed Gasol/Ibaka/Kawhi to handle Giannis. Then we were able to play smaller with Ibaka/Siakam/Kawhi in the finals against Gstate.

Great shot by Quick but doesn’t change my assessment of us needing a better PG. if BI don’t get injured we should have won this by 10.

RJ attacked aggressively in the 4th and played to his slash and drive strength. His shots aren’t pretty but they are effective.

Biggest surprise lately is CMB. The guy is moving his feet so well and cutting off angles on attackers. We have our new OG. CMB is such a bully with his body. If his dribbling and finishing at the rim at better he will be so taxing to defend. That’s 260-265 of weight thrown at the defender each time.

Yes but also a good chance to find out BI's impact on the team. We, and by that I mean some people who don't know basketball, learned about RJ's impact through his absence.

IQ will be able to do more PG things with Jakob or a screen setter. IQ generates pts out of the PNR

Apologize to IQ for what? Less plus/minus than Shead and a 3/11 shooting performance from 3? LOL

I’ve beeeeeeeeeen saying this. RJ’s driving ability is HUGE for us.

A consistent IQ would be great, but I’m good to move off him for help elsewhere.

Yes but he needs a screen. Plenty of point guards don’t.

You know he's at ~.360 on the season and trending up right? Very real chance he finishes the year at his career avg even after starting the year in a slump. And he's doing it on a team with limited spacing and putting up close to career high attempts.

The IQ hate is extreme on this board.

And that's where having another BIG C who can set screens, would help.

Both Barnes and now CMB slip the screens early to run to the basket. Certainly makes it looks like it's by design. They never just stay there to let the PG go around fully.

Very odd

Is he expected to be a 40% 3 point shooter and does he make over 30 mil a year?

I don’t hate him. I’m neutral. I think he’s slightly overpaid. I think we need a pg who can get to the paint more and actually pass. Stylistically, that’s not IQ. To me his salary is an excellent trading chip - especially in aggregate with Ochai and Gradey.

Put it this way - if IQ went 8/11 from 3 I’d agree he had an amazing game. The thing is that BI was out this game, and even with BI not around, IQ didn’t step up. It was RJ who won the game for us.

No he’s not, but that’s irrelevant. If you want him to play more than IQ then he needs to be better than IQ. He’s not. His TS% is like 48%. He’s a horrific offensive player. lol.

Let’s let him develop properly. He’s exceeded expectations but he’s still not a good player.

Honestly, I still think this board underrates Jak. Regardless, we can look at it two ways: we need a big who sets great screens AND we need a PG who can get to the paint on his own and pass.

If Shead could shoot like iQ we’d already have traded IQ.

I’d rather have Sabonis or AD than IQ on our current team present tense. I don’t think Shead is the saviour and I agree he needs to develop more. I do think his archetype of PG works better for our team.
