If we could somehow get Brooks too while dumping Calderon on them, that would be great, but perhaps asking for a little too much.

Houston fan here. I think most houston fans would do that first trade but we would need to make salaries match so we would need to add Scola or Battier (who I believe is expiring) which is a fair deal in our book. I don't think we have the cap space to take back calderon and make that deal work, also he has a pretty bad contract, which Houston will not want to take on.

The rights to who??? who is Llull???

Sergio Llull, 22, starting point guard for Real Madrid, drafted #34 last June by Denver, which sold his rights to Houston for $2.25 million, the most ever paid for a second round draft slot.

The Rockets have 2 picks this yr, if they do and 1 of them are in the lottery then thats a good trade for the raps. It'll still give us enough peices to hopefully get a bonafide star in a trade...

p.s. checked that lull player bio, seems like an interesting player. I'd have to go one some1s word if hes actually good or not.

To Toronto:
Jared Jeffries
Luis Scola
Shane Battier
Aaron Brooks
1st Rd Pick (NY) 2010
Rights to Sergio Llull

To Houston:
Chris Bosh
Jose Calderon

Or simply:

To Toronto:
Jared Jeffries
Luis Scola/Shane Battier
1st Rd Pick (NY) 2010
Rights to Sergio Llull

To Houston:
Chris Bosh

Option 1 is nice, but I don't see Houston giving up Brooks for Jose. Option 2 sounds really good and more realistic to me.

Does anyone know if is Llull coming over next year?

Here's a really nice video with Rockets VP explaining his game.

heres my idea. With Houston. Id want to send Bosh there anyway because its out West.

Houston Send:
Luis Scola (S&T 7,000,000 BYC value at 3,500,000)
Jordan Hill $2,669,520
Shane Battier $7,429,500
* Rockets 2011 1st Round Pick (& Receive the Rights to swap with New York in 2011)
* Knicks 2012 1st Round Pick (Received in the Kevin Martin deal)
= 13.9

Houston Get:
Chris Bosh $16,500,000

get bosh and go with a starting 5 of Brooks/Martin/Ariza/Bosh/Yao. This is again assuming Bosh doesnt want to resign, resigning him is option #1 and BC changing the core to keep him is also the plan.

Toronto Sends:
Chris Bosh $16,500,000
Reggie Evans $5,080,000

Toronto Gets:
Luis Scola (S&T 7,000,000 BYC value at 3,500,000)
Jordan Hill $2,669,520
Joel Przybilla $7,405,300
Martell Webster $4,800,000
* Rockets 2011 1st Round Pick (Rights to swap with Knicks)
* Blazers 2011 1st Round Pick (lottery protected)
* Knicks 2012 1st Round Pick

3 1st round draft picks in 2011. Torontos/New Yorks/Portlands which i really like. Webster is also young and can fill the backup 3 nicely. Joel is likely gone for the season so it opens up time for Johnson/Hill. Really love the return here.

Portland Sends:
Joel Przybilla $7,405,300
Martell Webster $4,800,000
* Blazers 2011 1st Round Pick (lottery protected)

Portland Gets:
Shane Battier $7,429,500
Reggie Evans $5,080,000

Get 2 expiring contracts, cut Websters longer deal and get battier to add defense to the 2nd unit which IMO would be a great addition.
__________________________________________________________________________________________
Summary:

- 2 2011 1st round picks (Portland, Houston with option to swap with New York)
- 1 2012 1st round pick (knicks)
- two separate deals basically Battier to POR could be done after in a 2 part deal because he couldnt be packaged to lower it example (Battier for Joel then Evans for Webster + 1st) works. 2 part deal because once you get a player you cant package him for so many days or we just include them in this.

Jack/Calderon/Banks
Derozan/Belinelli
Hedo/Webster/Weems
Scola/Hill/Jordan (2nd rounder)
Bargnani/Johnson/Pryz

= solid young group. Have some young bigs developing behind Scola who fits bargnani perfectly. We would have 3 1st round draft picks (assuming we make playoffs this year) to package and move up to get a Bosh replacement. We could package Scola with our expiring (Joel + Banks) for someone younger if need be but its just about the return for Bosh.

I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

I guess those are good trades but it just seems like we arent getting enough in return. Wouldn't we want Hill or Anderson in return also atleast. Houston will still have...

Brooks
Martin
Ariza
Bosh
Ming

Wow that team is scary.

Any deal that lands us a bunch of first round picks(to actually be used) would make me happy. I hate how our team always feels old and slow. The trade I saw proposing we get our pick back from Miami, along with one of theirs and Cook wasn't too bad. If Bosh goes we will suck, so taking a role player like Cook is fine. We'll be a top ten draft team for a while and can acquire a star wing in one of the upcoming drafts. Maybe even this one, if we trade up for Turner. Let's start young. Then we get to see if Colangelo is really the great gm everyone said he was, or another average one.
Bosh for picks and I won't complain.

i agree. BC has to make bold moves to have a good young team by the time we've got a new CBA in place. he's a good wheeler-dealer, of that much I'm fairly certain, and I'd like to see him set up for the future rather than trying to win next season. there are just so many good young players that can be had on reasonable contracts.

don't know if i'd want Ariza on such a long contract but it's a much better contract than Hedo's. haven't really been keeping tabs on Ariza's play this season.

Scola doesn't do it for me. he's not the big athlete that I want to put next to Bargnani, and he's a winning, veteran player and that's not what I'm looking for either.

Right now I'm thinking we miss the playoffs then S&T Bosh for Miami's 2010 pick, our future 1st, and a TPE

If we miss the playoffs and get our pick this year, I think we could get Beasley+their pick (would we still get a TPE?). Then we have some options with trading one of Bargs/Beasley for other young prospects (perhaps Thabeet? Mayo? Hibbert? Collison?). Either way, BC could probably work out a good trade with a piece like that, and hopefully get this team moving in the right direction.

I like how you dream big. Sloan is b-ball royalty IMO. Having him as the Raps coach would be beyond expectation.

don't like ur trade involving battier. he has what we need to improve the team (defense) but he is old, getting slower, and will not resign with this team. besides, even if he came, his impact on the defensive end wouldn't change much for the franchise since we're stuck with jose and turk.

would much rather take on Hill, Scola (I think he'd stick around -- and BC would overpay), and picks

you can be another .500 team with bargnani and scooby doo, or you rebuild the proper way and ship everyone's ass out. you do exactly what the leafs are doing minus the kessel trade.

.... did u read man. I sent Battier to a 3rd team for Webster/1st/expiring to give us young players. We get Hill, Scola, Webster, Pryzbilla (insured contract) 2011 1st (blazers), 2011 1st (Houston rights to swap with Knicks), 2012 Knicks.

If Bosh leaves to Miami, BC made it happen

Post#178 » by Relentless88 » Thu Mar 25, 2010 4:30 am

If Bosh signs outright with Miami it's because of BC that it happened. I still can't believe we gave up that huge 2010 JO expiring AND a mid first to get a rental Marion AND the pleasure of taking Marcus Banks and his contract.

BC got played like a bitch. JO's contract is essentially what is going to get Miami that second max, and probably Bosh.

Look what T-Mac's expiring got the Rockets. A young shooting guard in K-Mart, a prospect in Jordan Hill, 2011 expirings, NY first, and rights to swap another first rounder.

So we pretty much handed them a pick and offered to take Banks so they can go out and sign freakin Bosh.

Props to Riley, a man that knows what he's doing, a man that actually has a plan. BC got served.

You have to take risks in order to keep your franchise guy around. With those risks come no guarantees. That's life.

Had he not made some of those changes, who knows if Bosh would even be a Raptor right now.
