I have a feeling that if Bruno was well scouted he could of got picked higher but nobody really knew about him. Exum's a bigger name because he shares the same agent as kobe and his father was an NBA player. Nobody really know's if Exum is really legit since he been hiding for a while. I wouldn't be surprised if we look back someday and Bruno ends up being a better prospect then Exum.

Exactly what I said

Gianni's was picked 15th and now people are saying if they redid the draft he would go #1

What has Dante Exum done that makes him a better prospect than Bruno?

LOL this is all homerism at it's most blatant. Exum hasn't shown much but he has been a top performer playing with and against many of the very elite (and more proven) prospects that were just drafted in the lottery.

Yep. Exum went from being severely overrated to hugely underrated now. Bruno is even a bigger unknown having not even playing against any elite competition yet. At least Exum played in the Hoop Summit and the FIBA U19 tournament where he had to play against a stack USA squad that featured 3 lotto picks from this year's draft class and potentially another 3 in 2015.

man this board really needs to tone down the extremes

People shouldn't be getting their hopes up so high this early, and convincing themselves that he's a lock to be something special. There's no doubt he has a chance with his tools, but that's all it is right now. If he ends up being only ok and doesn't deliver on his potential (and there is always that chance), don't be blaming the guy for not living up to unreasonable expectations, but rather blame yourselves for setting them so high and expecting them to be reached.

It's as the theme of the NBA Draft coverage said: "I am not the hype." Players don't owe it to the fans to live up to overblown expectations and hype. It's a common mindset for this board to have, hence all the drama/anger in all our game threads during losses and whenever there are tough times.

Just a word of caution to keep your heads in check, yeah?

I don't think Bruno will get any flack for not panning out since nobody knew who he was in the first place. Masai will get 100% of the blame.

exactly. Before making any predictions on his future production or making comparisons, we need to wait and see how he does in Summer League to gauge where he's at in his development, and how much further he needs to go/what needs to be worked on.

I wouldn't be so sure. People like to blame the player for failures to produce at an expected level. It's the whole BUST situation - players don't ask to be chosen where they are, and they don't ask for the expectations that come with the draft position. They shouldn't be saddled with those pressures.

Bargnani is a different case, as his lack of production is completely due to his own reasons. But many other supposed draft "busts" should not have been picked where they were. Yet people still place the blame squarely on their shoulders.

Next Day: This is has a chance to be one of the best C's in the league.

Draft Ross: WTF who is this guy give me lamb, drummond or austin rivers.
Next Day: This is looks like he can be a top SG he has all the tools.

I hate all the media/realgm comparisons to our reactions of JV, Ross or how he was like the last years unknown in Antetokoumpo...

Difference is JV & Ross were both projected lottery picks still... The "Greek Freek" was on the draft boards & described as a sleeper pick... Bruno was nowhere to be found anywhere... This is in effect 1999 M.Ginobli (#57) & choosing him #20 in a deep draft, & hoping he can be as good as M.Ginobli... As I said in another post I trust Masai because his rise has been in the scouting ranks but this an extremely ballsy move...
