Yep, I've been on the Eric gordon bandwagon. Seems like a good match for both teams. He's still scoring at an efficient clip. Would be nice off our bench.

Not convinced that Theis isn't washed though, his numbers are really poor this season.

I would consider Holmes a player worth putting a FRP towards. Obvious caveat being that Masai / Bobby are real fans of Holmes, and not just doing something for the sake of doing it.

I want to keep Boucher though.. I know it’s an obvious next move (roster balance, expiring, etc)… but I can also see Nick going crazy with big lineups, and just continue to empower other bigs Siakam / Barnes / OG to take on ball handling + offence initiating duties.

I don’t know what third / fourth teams would need to be involved, but if we can do something along the lines of:

Out: Dragic, Flynn, Svi, FRP and SRP

Inbound: Holmes + Guard / 1 More Piece (even a Gallo type)

I would be thrilled.

A Dragic for Gordon
Boucher for Holmes.

If that combo happened and we walked away with Gordon and Holmes. That would be pretty fantastic.

We’ve been rumoured to getting Holmes for sometime now, I remember it was fairly close to happening this past offseason too. Gordon and Holmes would be home runs in my books.

I'm definitely with getting Gordon but I really don't see what different dimension Holmes brings vs Achuiwa and Bobby sounded like he was inferring that Boucher would be sticking around.

Genuinely interested why some people love Holmes so much?!? Don't see what more he brings than a guy like Achuiwa who does so at a fraction of the price and don't waste a FRP on a guy we could've signed outright.

Holmes is basically Precious but actually good at basketball

I don't think he would move the needle a ton, but replacing Precious' 24mpg with Holmes 24mpg is a huge plus. A lot of people don't talk about it too but Holmes is actually a very good mid range shooter from anywhere inside like 16 feet. His FG% isn't just really good because he catches lobs or just dunks, he shoots near 60% from 8 to 16 feet, and almost half of his FG attempts come from that range

He's also bigger than Precious, and a better screen setter

Holmes can actually finish at the rim. And you also have both of them.

Push Scottie to the bench but you finish games with him.

8 man rotation of

FVV
Trent
OG
Siakam
Holmes

Barnes
Gordon
Precious.

Why do y’all think we need a center so much. I would only take a center if he was clearly better then the 2-2 1/2 we already have in Boucher birch and precious. Nurkick is really the only big I’d be interested in that’s available.
Team really could use a reliable guard off of the bench in the worst way. Someone that could give us about 8-10 points consistently would be huge and can handle a little bit.

Holmes does everything much better than the guys we currently have and also does it on a cheap contract. Why wouldn't we be interested...

Also, we couldn't sign Holmes because Masai backed himself into a corner of being stuck with a Dragic's contract that no one wanted in the offseason.

Theis goes to Sacramento as part of Holmes coming to Toronto…

Other than maybe a depth guard/wing for the bench, I'd be happy if the Raps stood pat.

Unless a star is available, I'd keep all our assets instead of trading some of them for average players who really aren't genuine difference makers.

We aren't going to give up a FRP for a guy like Holmes and his contract... especially with the way Boucher has been playing.

He doesn't move the needle so why throw away an asset for him.

We badly need a jolt of scoring from a guard/forward position off the bench. Even then, I'm not giving up a FRP for it.

I'd be surprised if Boucher is moved to be honest. He's been playing really well as of late and I think Nurse loves what he brings to the team.

At 11/12 a year Holmes is actually super affordable and would likely exceed that contract value.

Say it’s a Boucher and a 1st for Holmes.

Maybe they see Holmes locked in at a reasonable price and would rather have that for the next 3 years.
