Suggs has shown nothing and I'm sorry but we will actually need some scoring if Fred is gone. You can't just have a bunch of non-shooters waiting for the next guy to take the next brick.
You also don't need to fix that with bad basketball players who shoot. If Masai wanted players like Cam Thomas he could easily acquire them or pick them up for cheap. Those guys just don't win you games which is why he has a specific archetype he targets.
GTJ is basically what Cam Thomas will top out as and even he's not someone the Raptors were serious about keeping. This team isn't winning games with two guys like GTJ even if someone like Cam Thomas gets that good.
Idk how you can make these definitive claims that "he could easily acquire or pick them up for cheap", based on what exactly?! That you don't like him? I could just as easily say that about a complete bust like Suggs, if not easier. There's a reason, BKN is yet to include Thomas in any trade packages, meanwhile ORL is willing to give up on a top 5 pick just a year after drafting him, think about that, think how BAD you had to have been to be given up on as a pick that high in just a single year, that should really speak volumes of who is worth what.
You also have no basis to claim GT Jr is what Cam will "top out" as when he's already had higher scoring games than Gary ever has and WELL outperformed Gary in college too. If Suggs had the same performances as Cam, people would be scared we messed up and/or he wouldn't even be available lol. I can understand Cam couldn't beat Kyrie out of the starting lineup of a top 4 team in the East vs Suggs who can't beat the likes of no jumper Fultz & attention seeking Cole Anthony on a bottom feeder that would love nothing more than to push him into the starting lineup when they drafted him with every intention to do so yet he let them down so badly.
