You don’t take the Scottie Barnes in the top half of the lotto. You don’t take the he can do a bit of everything, he just needs to learn how to shoot guy that high. It how the Josh Jacksons and Josh Chlidresses and MKGs and Evan Turners happen every friggin year. Don’t bite.

The Cleveland Cavaliers will have the opportunity to select a potential franchise cornerstone with the No. 3 overall pick of the 2021 NBA draft, and they reportedly are looking at Jonathan Kuminga as a possible candidate.

Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com reported Cleveland hosted Kuminga for a private workout on Wednesday. The front office, including general manager Koby Altman, also watched him at his pro day in Chicago in June.

While Cade Cunningham, Evan Mobley, Jalen Green and Jalen Suggs may be considered the top four prospects, Fedor noted the Cavaliers "made a commitment shortly after the lottery to do their due diligence and expand the search beyond that quartet."

Kuminga is a part of that and someone the front office has now seen multiple times.

they always speak in this pattern
1) we have the best scouts, and their decision >>> all online mocks (appeal to populism)
2) but if our scouts don't pick X, then it will be monumental mistake (self importance)

just a bunch of mental gymnastics to project their own belief of who to pick is better than anyone else's

particularly about that Sengun guy.

Those guys are all traditional wings though. I dont think barnes is going to be a traditional wing in the nba. Either teams take him to be a PG or he plays the 4

Now look closer at that BACK DROP....what do you see????

Maybe I'm imagining things but it looks A LOT like a mural of LA transitioning through a "dinosaur" (perhaps a Raptor) with a "rocket" taking off in TORONTO. Tell me that ain't some next level conspiracy ish lmao

His floater game is weak around the basket. Pretty bad touch there. Missing all those shots in the drill both sides.

I forgot the gym but it’s pretty popular. Jalen Green has also worked out there last a few months ago.

One of my favorites for our 2nd pick. I'm worried he's going to be taken well before us now after that combine.

He has the Bam tool kit, minus the ball handling. But you got a switchable 6'10 250lb centre with a 7'3 wingspan and a 44-inch vertical. The way he can play either drop down coverage or defend in space on the perimeter is impressive. Quick feet, strength, and bounce. For a centre I'd have no qualms about throwing him out there at Giannis in spurts, like the heat do with Bam.

His block numbers would be higher if not for Texas scheme. Offensively he's a pure rim runner, but he shows some glimpses of dribbling the basketball. Here he is imitating D12 by hitting his head on the rim.

Our 2nd pick is in the 2nd round. I like Jericho Sims but he is going to be picked around 15 in the 1st round

EDIT: I was thinking Kai Jones going 15th.

We might be able to get Sims

I would be shocked if a team used a 1st round pick on this guy. Super athletic but thats it

If we're taking a center in the second round it will be Queta. We scouted him and worked him out.

For those who want to do deep dive

This guy’s channel is freaking sick. Not sure how he does it. Covering most of the top 40 prospects from offense to defense.

At this point, I hope Neemias is still available when we draft in the 2nd round. Vids like this are starting to give him some buzz.

he's using Synergy which allows you to track the prospect you want to in very detailed way. you can watch full game film and just the mins a prospect is on the floor. It's awesome!

I'm guessing a lot of you are watching youtube highlights right?

you're likely right. Fits our style of bigs, showed solid progression in college. Perfect to run 1-2 yrs in the 905 and develop
