Damn, we're getting absolutely dominated in the first period. It feels like this series is over.

same old core 4 leafs. soft and timid when the going gets tough.

those sundin-era teams never won either but at least they got to the conference finals a bunch of times.

I feel like you could just copy and paste the comments about this team from last season, because nothing every changes with this team.

Urgh.
I had to punch myself in the balls about 60 times for thinking about spending 650 dollars for tickets tonight.

Good thing I didn't. But my balls are sore

game 3 was the game they needed to win to give them a 3-0 cushion, but luck wasn't on their side in OT.....game 4 they reverted to the old leafs and that's the series right there.

No matter how bad things get in raptors land, take solace in the fact that we as fans are not stuck in the hell that leafs fans are stuck in.

Yup. I thought it was hilarious when leafs media was talking about how good they were playing after game 2.

I predicted that there was a 50% chance Florida would win 4 straight after game 2.

Those first 2 wins were pretty lucky. Florida had more chances and far more offensive zone time. Leafs were getting lucky on the counter-attack and Bobrovsky was letting in weak goals.

This really isn't like other seasons of disappointment like losing to montreal. Florida is the best team in the league by far.

Tanev has been the type of addition they need to keep making. Trade Nylander or Matthew's for a solid package of cap-efficient role players.

Matthew's was pretty ineffective in the four nations cup too. He's just never shown himself to be a great player in the clutch. Plus....the Canadian overtime goal to win the 4 nations cups was Matthew's fault.

It's time to blow it up.

You can't even blame this collapse on the Stolarz injury because they choked the previous two games away.

Woll was pretty **** in game 4. He's the main reason they lost. They should just run the Flordia goalie for the rest of the game lol

Damn it really sucks to look at it this way

You had Rielly, Matthews, Marner, Nylander, Tavares. Foligno etc you added all kinds of talent. Good goalies, you even had a HOF coach in Babcock who effed up in his ways.

And not much to show for it at the end. What a wasted decade. These players I maintain to this day are great. Marner, is effin awesome. Tavares did everything expected.

Its a curse. Very sad.

They’ve changed the coach.
They’ve changed the GM.
They’ve changed the 3rd and 4th liners multiple times.
They’ve changed 5 of the d-men multiple times
They’ve gone through countless goalies.
They even changed the captain.

The common denominator has always been those core 5 guys, none of which have done a single meaningful thing in the playoffs.

Is it too much to ask that just once one of those guys put the team on his back and lead them to a win? Rantanen has done exactly that 3x in the last 10 days lol. Draisaitl did it last week. Someone, anyone, name me ONE memorable Matthews playoff game.

There's gotta be a breaking point with this core. This is just too embarrassing to meme at this point
