He definitely projects as player that will be a bully that talks alot of **** around the time his 2nd contract kicks in. Especially if teams try to put wings and forwards on him.

I realized Scottie didn’t like LeBron after he answered a reporters question about him that he’s more of a Kobe guy lol

if Scottie keeps up this type of talk, though he’s really loved by his fanbase, many could really dislike him too. I prefer him talk less, be humble, and let his game do the talking. He’s still young and has a lot to prove. Stay humble Scottie, you haven’t made it yet!

You can't force a guy to be a certain way.

As long as he continues to put in the work like he has, he can talk all the **** he wants.

I disagree...I prefer Scottie to be himself.
You can't force a guy to be something he's not and I don't want a bashful star that doesn't help garner this team some more attention. Scottie is obviously a VERY naturally out-going person/personality, kinda reminds me of Shaq in that way where his personality is larger than life. Not everyone can or should just fall in line with the Spurs' drill sergeant environment with no personality and quite frankly I don't think that's an effective "culture" especially within today's modern culture to repress multi-millionaire players. All that's doing is likely driving out players that don't vibe with that which I'd guess majority of today's players don't.
Likewise I think Scottie's HUGE personality only HELPS the Raptors.
Hate it or love it, his personality on & off court will bring the team more attention (note how the amount of US nationally televised games of our team has ALREADY increased again uncoincidentally with Scottie's arrival). Assuming Scottie doesn't force his way out at some point, it won't shock me in the least if he actually becomes perhaps the most beloved Raptor of all time with (or possibly surpassing) Lowry. So just be thankful lol because Scottie is going to bring excitement around this franchise like VC did 20 years ago (which funny coincidence was another Florida boy that also awarded SB for his ROTY).

I'm more concerned with what I've seen of him on the court.

SAS is actually really well connected. I don't know how reliable this source that this is coming from is but if SAS did indeed say this then I can believe it.

Bring him home…I’m certain we’d keep him in check & make him a star, him & Barnes would be something of a VC/TMac remix lol with Scottie being more physical & better passer than Tracey but I just mean a star young duo that would bring in the attention by the flock.
I know it’s still not likely the Warriors trade him but just saying I would & would be willing to likely offer more than what majority of this board would because I think like Scottie, he’s oozing potential.

This was actually the talk in Summer league mentioned by Nate Duncan and John Hollinger too.
I wonder what's going on.

What were they saying? Mainly work ethic related?

Mainly attitude issues and the warriors asked him to work on certain areas of his game, but he was not following the plan.

Re: Official Scottie Barnes Thread 3
The best thing about freshmen is they become sophomores, as an old college coach used to say. And one of the best things about NBA rookies is that the best of them come back as second-year players. With a lot of experience, some familiarity with the league and a greater sense of where they fit and how they can help their teams.
That development, from the first season to the second, could have a significant impact on the balance of power in the NBA in 2022-23, considering how deep the Class of 2021 was last season. Toronto Raptors forward Scottie Barnes beat out the Cleveland Cavaliers’ Evan Mobley and the Detroit Pistons’ Cade Cunningham for Kia Rookie of the Year, but the race at the top was tight and all three had compelling cases.
But this was no top-heavy crop. In fact, as it became apparent how notable the talent level and contributions of the new arrival were, the weekly Rookie Ladder here at NBA.com made an unprecedented adjustment: We added two rungs, from 10 to 12, to keep tabs on the deserving new guys. Even with that change, three or four players got snubbed each week.
With that in mind, here are 16 NBA sophomores ready to shine this season (listed in alphabetical order):
Scottie Barnes, Toronto Raptors
Barnes wasn’t just the ROY — he was a surprise, nabbed at No. 4 by the Raptors when most mock drafts had Jalen Suggs slotted in there. The Florida State product impressed not just with his production — 15.4 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 3.5 apg — but his versatility. He is part of coach Nick Nurse’s crew of 6-foot-9 switchable defenders, able to guard any of three or four positions. His ball skills enable him to fill a point-forward role, too. It’s no wonder that any chatter about a Kevin Durant-to-Toronto trade invariably had Barnes mentioned as a key piece.
