Pay the price Masai.

Just do it.

Agreed. We need to do a rebuild. Not necessarily a full blow up and tank, but we need to change the focal points of the offense. JV inside and Murray outside could work nicely in the long term. I'd want Murray to spend time in D League developing some point guard skill, however, since I still like Powell at SG.

As this playoff run continues, Masai is smart enough to realize this core aint gonna cut it, it really is just flawed.
Bringing in Jamal Murray who does so many things, answers a lot of issues with our team and fills the long-term PG spot.

I really do believe Masai will push hard to get him.

I hope masai uses this draft to plan an exciting future. Pls trade up. don't keep Derozan for the corporate heads who want playoff first round exits perennially Masai.... don't do it !

The thing is this team would still make the playoffs without Demar. JV has looked like the better player of late and seems to have taken a major step forward in confidence and aggressive play. The offense also flows much better when he's more involved. I'm not going to bash Demar, but while our regular season record would take a hit we would still be competitive in the playoffs without him.

I'll take a lesser record and making the playoffs however teams can game plan Derozan easily in the playoffs ... hurting the team play into mediocrity I feel. I'd love to build around JV. I agree the flowing offense with him is great to watch and is successful

He wont even be as good as DeRozan. Hes worse prospect than Stanley Johnson and Justise Winslow

The Draft will be a interesting one forsure... I have a feeling guys will be available at 9 that we werent expecting to be there ...

There is always a player that rises that shouldn't or a GM takes a flyer on someone they really like ...It Happens in alot of drafts.
Heild/Brown Would be Ideal to fall to us possibly...

i know Skal is raw atm and alot of people here say he will prolly be a bust...But he has alot of NBA qualities about him and if there really isnt much left for us to grab or cant trade up to take Murray i think you have to take Skal based on All Star potential alone.

Kid just turned 20 and has visible NBA Skills already. He needs developing and time to grow and get taught how to stay out of foul trouble.

I am a firm believer in Coaching and how that has an effect on a players performance as well...I Think Coach Cal used him wrong and tried to make Skal into something hes not.

Skal/Val Could be Dynamic Frontcourt if it pans out for us for years to come.

I want no part of Skal. Any big man who rebounds that poorly is the last guy I want. I'm sure a dozen guys will argue about it, but the ghost of Bargnani haunts me and I never want a soft big man again.

Glad to hear the main video scout from DX has a similar opinion to my own.

1) Ingram
2) Simmons
3) Bender
4) Dunn
5) Brown
6) Murray
7) Poeltl
8) Davis
9) Skal
10) Baldwin
11) Hield
12) Chriss
13) Luwawu
14) Ellenson
15) Prince

Interesting top-15 from Schmitz having Hield dropping out of the top-10 with Brown rising back up to his original range. Also, Deyonta Davis going at 8 is interesting.

Personally, I love Skal at our pick which is where Schmitz has him, and as much as I dislike the idea of Hield I don't think we pass him up if he drops.

people forget that it is not only the player, but the system that depends on maximizing them. for instance, the chances of a player knowing their role go way up (in most cases) in San Antonio rather than PHA, based on the fact that the former knows how to develop players. of course, playing time is also a factor, and some players just need court time. but i see us in a good position to develop a backup 3, not a starting four. we need more immediate help there. that's why i like brown and luwawu, both of whom could learn a tonne from carroll. if you draft chriss and skal you basically have to sign a free agent there as well, and that makes issues for patter son's playing time.

If Buddy Hield drops to us at 9 that would be amazing.

If it is a choice between Marquese Chriss and Skal Labissiere, I am not sure which direction is preferable. Chriss is the better athlete and already has some three point range, but Skal is the better shot blocker and has better size.

Yes, if Hield is there you take him and run.

Hield+Powell in PnR situations with Val looks good to me.

Is it possible that the infatuation with Jamal Murray on this board is fueled by his being a Canadian
more than his actual abilities.

Probably a combination of both.

He's a top 5 or 6 pick in this draft regardless of nationality.

What a novel concept!

It sort of fails to account for the fact that Murray is ranked highly by a lot of American scouting agencies who have no vested interest in his nationality, so there goes that. This isn't Myck Kabongo here where he wasn't ranked anywhere near where people wanted to pick him. Murray is among the top 5 best prospects in the draft at present.

Think LAL would go for a Demar and #9 for Clarkson, Nance JR and #3?

That would be my DREAM

Free up capspace this offseason for a middle tier PF....

Lowry/Joseph
Ross/Clarkson
Carroll/Powell
Ppat/Nance JR
JV/Bebe

I'm pretty sure you can't combine a S&T player with a pick. So it would need to be Demar for #3 and filler, and #9 for Clarkson and Nance Jr. I don't see them doing Demar for #3 and filler.

He is raw but only 18 so if we pick him itll be based on his potential.
