What about ABDOULAYE N’DOYE? He's auto (22 yo) eligible for the draft.
6'7 guard with a 7'2 wingspan. Sounds like Nicolas Batum. 4 assists to 2 turnovers for Cholet and shot 44.1% from 3 (though small sample he did shot 37.8% the previous season.
Looks like a less smooth Delon Wright.

I think we discussed him earlier, kind of raw, good potential

Funny you should mention him. When I introduced him into this thread way back in April you compared him to McCaw, and most others ignored him. But the kids got a great toolbox to work with.

Ya, he has the figure of McCaw. That scouting report by PeachTreeHoops now makes me think that his floor would be McCaw.

Bolmaro is a 1st round option.
N'doye would make more sense for our 2nd. Although I don't think he gets picked that late

Bane, my guy. Really hoping we draft him, he'd be a perfect fit with this team.
I am warming up to Desmond Bane. I am no expert on shooting mechanics but 44% 3pt shooter on 6.5 attempts plus a few assists, rebounds and a steal game is still nice. Also, his ball iq seems to be at least decent based on what draft sites say about him usually making the right play.
Sure he is an older rookie with a short wingspan for his height but so is VanVleet who evolved into a very good defensive and offensive player. Worse case scenario he replaces Matt Thomas and at best he continues to improve his handles to become a 6-6 version of VanVleet.

I see he's more like a jacked up version of Josh Hart (not a great wingspan) with better passing skills and slightly better shooting the 3 and FTs.

After hearing today that the Raptors were interested in drafting Brogdon, I became increasingly confident that Bane will be a Raptor come draft night.
Off the court they're both well spoken individuals as well.
Also interesting to note Bane retweeted a couple tweets of VanVleet recently, including this one:
VanVleet spitting facts!!! Looks like Bane already on the same page as his future teammate

I recall in his first year VanVleet was already useful just by making open 3pt shots and swinging the ball side to side. Hoping Bane can do the same with the off chance his dribble and drive game is/gets good enough to utilize his passing skills.

I think guys like Banes and Riller, and pretty much any guy who goes undrafted probably love VanVleet. He is an incredible story with where he came from in Illinois, how he went undrafted to being a starter, built his own brand, and winning a championship.
I could see Bane work out for Toronto, but I think it is going to be hard to not go after a SF or big especially if they are 19. There is something amazing about getting a young talent with freak attributes that you can mold.
My doubt with Bane is about where you slot him - undersized SF, a slightly nonathletic SG. To me he is like Dillon Brooks more than Brogdon which is great value if you draft that type of player. But you think that Brooks was a high 40s pick and is only a year older than Bane now so it isn't ideal with where Toronto is drafting.

To me the Dillon Brooks comparison doesn't make a ton of sense. Brooks doesn't contain the basketball IQ & playmaking ability that Bane does. Bane had his fair share at the PG position and showed that he can play the position without any problems.
But yes I also believe Bane can play some minutes at the 3 when needed given his size. He's shown the ability to guard bigger guys.

Dang, they have Bane gone by #18, Cassius Stanley by #21, Grant Riller at #22, Jahmi'us Ramsey at #23.
They seem like they value the guards that most of us have as wants at #28. They have us taking Abdoulaye N'Doye.
Is it crazy that they have Nesmith slipping to #31, Josh Green to #41 and Paul Reed to #45?
I think they forgot Tillman!
#40 Yoeli Childs is doughy. He's like Lonny Baxter with possible 3pt shooting.
Cassius Winston at #52 would be a steal, same for Malachi Flynn at #56.
They have us taking Lamine Diane at #58.

Fair enough. I just see that Bane is an elite shooter and that will likely be his role to be a spot-up shooter, similar to Brooks. Bane had an elite 1.14 points per possession (PPP) in spot-up scenarios and is predominantly a jumpshooter.
I doubt he is good enough to be a primary ballhandler. He doesn't have the burst to play that role, but he won't kill you either. Like Brooks he has arm length that pretty much matches his size. The gator arms -like Brooks- is what really makes me see his future role as a back-up 2/3 who is a floor spacer.

I don't agree with the mock draft but I don't think it's crazy either. The direction of the league is heavily going towards guys who can do stuff with the ball (playmakers/scorers) and this draft has a lot of guards. To add on top of that, the draft is pretty weak and flat which raises the chance that a ton of guards going in the first round.

Raptors fans think: We was gonna draft Brogdan and did not, this time we are going to draft someone similar in Bane
Raptors management think: We drafted Siakam over Brogdan, this time we are going to draft Siakam 2.0 over Bane

Agree. I also can see Nesmith dropping because of his injury and the possibility his crazy shooting was a fluke and not sustainable.

Yes. My thought to counter that point is, even if his insane three point statistics isn't sustainable, he's still a really good shooter. 8.2 three point attempts per game at 52% at his size is no joke. Even in a 14 game sample size, that kind of 3pa volume or 3 point percentages is hard to get on its own.
At his size, he will at least be an average defender with solid versatility with a really mean 3 point shot. I don't know what his ceiling is but his floor is a rotation player for a playoff team.

He's going to be the steal of the draft. If Nesmith is on the board at #28 you take him without even thinking about it.
