But if that were the case, we'd be talking about him as a top 5 pick and how we'd probably miss out on the chance to select him...

If don't get the consensus top 2, then I would trade down as much as I could while still selecting Carter Bryant. I'm sold on him; like a little bulkier Jayson Tatum.
I don't see Jayson Tatum at all in him.
I see no creation ability with Bryant whereas Jayson Tatum was certified bucket at Duke.
Bryant is 3+D...maybe elite 3+D but he doesn't have the bag that Tatum has. I see a lot of OG in the way he moves and in his build. Big strong wing who can defend and hit 3s.
He played his role at Arizona. He was being a team player. If he was playing on Rutgers, you would see his full game like in HS.

Where is this mythical HS tape with all his sauce that you are comparing him to Tatum again? I've watched probably 80-90% of his HS stuff and I'm still looking for how you are coming to these conclusions.
You might be missing something, sure you are seeing him dunk and finish at the rim but where are the buckets when he beats his man and shows off his on ball stuff that would warrant a comparison? if he had this in his HS tape he would easily a consensus top 10 pick..
they are all off cuts, put backs, broken plays and in transition. + attacking a close out here and there
If he was anything like Tatum other than if you mean if he's standing at the 3 point line and you squint and they kinda look alike you would be able to find a ton of instances especially in HS where he was at a big advantage physically where he puts pressure on the rim. find me 5 instances where he takes someone to the rack and i'll just roll my eyes and shut up the next time you make the comparison lol.. if it's hard or you can't find it and link it for us please stop making the comp![]()
his tape just screams off ball 3+D. he does have some underrated passing but none of it is putting pressure on the rim
"Through the first 11 games, Bryant has only gotten to the rim 2.18 times per 36 minutes which ranks dead last out of the top prospects in this class. This figure is backed up by his low rim rate in high school."

Hes clearly not as good and won't be as good as Tatum to me thats not a fair comp.....Tatum was always going to be good and also had an Iso game to go along with his good shooting....He could always play off the dribble which Bryant has not shown much.....A more fair comp in my eyes would be a way more athletic Cam Johnson....Which is still one heck of a player....

That is how defensive first big men are most the times in games....They have an impact but they are invisible majority of the time....Think of Rudy Gobert....You know hes on the court and helping on the defensive end but he rarely is noticeable during the whole game....That is how i see Maluach career going....Not a flashy pick but hes basically a pick to help your defensive rim protection.....On offense don't expect much besides lob dunks.
Like another poster said the NBA today is a skills league....If you do not have much basketball skills overall you are prolly not gonna be featured at all or get many touches during the game....Which yes you become invisible and just do the little things....This is one reason i am hesitant on him. We already have so many guys like that we need more players with tremendous skills

Or we can look at it as a game that was less a game and more of a scrimmage with players not really locked into anything. Tre Johnson had a bad game but we kind of look the other way because he was productive as a freshman.
Not going to argue about the NBA being a skills based league - every player can help keep an offense flowing and my worry with Maluach is that he has a low assist %
That said playoff team still value traditional bigs. The Cavs are starting Jarrett Allen and the Thunder have Hartenstein and the Knicks play Mitchell Robinson and the Pistons have Jalen Duren and the Clippers have a potential DPOY in Zubac. You need size in the NBA or these big wings will cook you. Maluach can be a game changer on defense and someone with some shooting upside that I think is real.

I am unsure his defense / rebounding is better than Mark Williams. Keep in mind that he was terrible against Houston with zero rebound.
Again, that is a pretty fair average case scenario for Maluach. Your Chandler comparison is high end, that is the assumption that he improves his defense and rebounding to that level.
Hmm not sure how much of Maluach you have watched then, unless you just watched the last game (Houston) when he heard he was about to be deported. There us no way you could think that of you watched his previous games closely. He is an extraordinary defender for some one who has only been playing a few years and switchable too.
Mark Williams doesn’t really play any defence so.. if Maluach plays anything like him then yeah you’re right no one should draft himHe won’t even be in the league.
You failed to understand visa and immigration. He wont be deported. Those without talent and fight against Americans for average jobs will get deported. The purpose of visa is to ensure talent stay at that country.
Malauch has yet to show he is a capable defender, we are talking about potential here. Would not be surprised he foul out in 5 mins with our perimeter defense.
