Nikola Vucevic is complete bust. I do think he is very overrated around here, but 6.8 pts. 3.5 rbs. and abysmal FG% ? Ouch.

Depends on your definition of "complete bust"..any NBA team would welcome a 7 footer who can put up ~13/12 on 51.9 FG% in his 2nd year.

If you're talking strictly Euro ball, then maybe, but I haven't seen him play.

Yeah, this: you're talking just about FIBA, right? Vucevic was great for Orlando this past season. 13/12 in 33 mpg, 14/13 PER36. He was a shade under league-average efficiency, but a 12% (3.5 per game) ORB player at without huge turnover issues and having notably improved his foul rate from his rookie season (and his efficiency). Good range when he has his feet set, too.

Not an NBA bust, but yeah, looks like you're quoting FIBA stats, so I suppose that makes sense.

Take it for what it's worth but I read on rotoworld that Vucevic has the flu and they think it's effecting his play.

I wouldn't call Vucevic a bust. He just doesn't really know how to play euro ball. He didn't move to NBA from Europe, he played in NCAA, so he might just need time to adjust to this completely different style of play.

I guess the goal would be to finish top 6 in order to play Canada in the WC. I understand every game has a probability but still, LTU is grinding out every single one even against significantly worse teams (e.g. Latvia & Montenegro). The only positive about going to OT was that the final result improved the +/- (winning by 7 as opposed to 3)

Hey, man! Latvian basketball fan here.

I went through the last few pages to see what Raptors fans think of the tournament and JV's performance. I am interested why are you so down on our team. You obviously know your stuff on European basketball. Moreover, of course, judging by the rosters we were the worst team in the group coming in the tournament. But I think we've proven that we can compete with everyone.

I'm completely confident that today we're advancing to the next tournament stage.

A little offtopic, but did anyone notice that the Italians have won all their 4 games w/o Bargnani? Aaaah I feel so much better now that he's gone...

yup and its no surprize, same with LK, they just take bunch of terrible shots, dont defend, dont box out opponents on boards. It was pretty obvious why Toronto was terrible past few years. I just feel sad for Knicks and Fenerbahçe Ülker. I just dont understand how teams keep biting on these baits...

With bust, I mean bust of the tournament. He is the biggest name on team Montenegro and people were expecting way better than this. He is obviously not a career bust.

Tho I dont find him impressive. He is just a very good rebounder, offensive he is very overrated, I saw Magic fans comparing him to Brook... He is the most generic C in the league, has one move and draws no fouls. A lot of posters here think he is better than JV, and its just not true. People are captivated by double double.

He was absolutely killing in Montenegro during the lockout. He looks like Euro center to me, just badly under performs.

Yeah, he doesn't look like he'll have anything resembling BroPez's offensive impact, but in the void left by Howard's departure, him and Nicholson are looking pretty good as a frontcourt foundation upon which to move forward

This championship is wide open. Spain is still favorite but any team can win it.
Lithuania needs to win or lose by no more then 9 pts to advance. Will JV start?

They're really struggling in transition. Linas is jogging out there.

EDIT: He played the whole quarter for some reason. Ended it with a stupid charge.
